To me it is one of the top five, Have to add Pure Hoppiness and Kern 5th Anniversary. 5th Anni. blows Citra out of the water.

Knuckle Sandwich FRESH within a week is AMAZING..because of the ABV at 10% it has a bigger malt backbone for a West Coast style...so it sweetens up quick. So make sure you've had it on TAP or FRESH before forming a proper opinion.

...And I'm also a HUGE IPA fan. Had Ladyface Cheseboro (GREAT) myself, along with MOST/ALL the poplular IPA's in So. Cal. (Alpine, Green Flash, Kern River, Russian River, Ballast Point, Noble Ale Works etc etc)
Had 3 of the FFF IPA's...Founders Devil Dancer, Double Trouble, Heady Topper, Abrasive..and most..I'm a fan of the Hop Foward West Coast bitter IPA's so Port Mongo for example is one of my favorites..Pliny is the perfect balance..BUT..I put an exception to Knuckle Sandwich to my preference because it IS Hop Foward when FRESH. But like I said above..after 2 weeks..I don't want it. I just picked up 2 bottles yesterday from the brewery and had a pint on tap there..AWESOME BEER!

Knuckle Sandwich is a great brew, and a surprise.

HT is absolutely amazing, and there's no hype with this brew it's outstanding. If I could get it every day I would, but since Two Hearted is on the short list thanks to Walmart, Caldera and 2X are my go to IPA's right now.

    Pure Hoppiness
    Duet
    Nelson
    Citra
    Just Outstanding
    Pliny the Elder

I would take any of those beers over Knuckle Sandwich. Dont get me wrong, Sandwich is a good DIPA. Just nothing crazy. I have had it numerous times very fresh and on tap. I just think the hype kills it for me.

Just to add to this thread, fresh Hopocalypse is pretty delicious as well.

Exponential Hoppiness from Alpine is just an incredible beer. Knuckle Sandwich blew me away as well. It's so difficult to rate these elite beers as better than another. My top 10, in no particular order:

    PtE
    Heady Topper
    Citra
    Exponential Hoppiness
    Hopslam
    Surly Abrasive
    Founders Double Trouble
    Dreadnaught
    Maharaja
    Myrcenary

No they are not doubles, both are 7% abv but that wasn't my point.

They both still taste better than Sandwich (IMHO)

My point was DIPAs. I could name some other regulars i like better as well.. Definitely disagree about Duet being better.

Thanks to Masterski for setting me up with one of these a while back. Great Beer. I like this better than Citra. But not as much as liquid perfection. A.K.A - Double Sunshine.
