So since Kokanee has discontinued their 16oz cans, and previously discontinued their bottles so now they only have 12oz cans. Can anyone point me to a beer that tastes similar to Kokanee, that is at least 5% ABV, and comes in a 16oz can? For me one 12oz can are just feels like its not enough but two cans is too much when I just want a beer after a long day of working. I like the 16oz can and Kokanee was my go to beer as it was only $9.99 for a 6 pack of 16 oz cans. Icehouse was pretty close. Natural Ice wasnt close at all. Raineer is lower in ABV and too light tasting. I tried Carlsberg pilsner and bleh! A buddy of mine keeps trying to get me into craft beers but I'm just too cheap. I live in Eastern Washington and the selection at stores is ok-ish. I do have a Total Wine and More nearby
A BA search on "Kokanee" yields five beers from three breweries in four styles. None of the breweries is named Kokanee. Can you be more specific? What brewery, which beer? If low cost trumps flavor, then it may not matter what beer you drink as long as it's cheap.
Maybe give the newish Douglas Lager a shot? The abv. is only 4.7%, but outside of that, sounds like it should meet your requirements.
Molson! Yes, another great Canadian lager, this should be your new go-to. Or....go big and get an oil can of Fosters!
I used to really like Kokanee back 20 years ago. It was my camping beer in bottles. I would say Coors Banquet in the bottle is the best replacement. Unless you can get Moosehead on your area.
