i didn't know if anyone had tried this. What about using beer koozies for shipping beer instead of bubble wrap?

I was at a conference last week and it was an after thought. They gave us koozies and as I was packing up I was like man this would work pretty good. Of course this was after they had a table of extra stuff and I could have grabbed as many as I wanted.

Yes it leaves one end exposed but if you are zip locking and wrapping with other material they seem light, reusable, no tape needed, one good form fitting layer etc. but of course better if you get them for free.

Also there is a nearby place that has 16oz koozies on clearance for 50 cents each. Would handle both sizes and protect a 12 more.

I'd probably use them more when i travel but if ingot a bunch free I would have no issue shipping them out.

    anyone? Thoughts?

    I like the idea, personally.
    Pros:
    *Re-usability. Always nice
    *Tight fitting
*Can be used by your trade partner

    Cons:
    *Cost
    *Only fits small format bottles/cans
    *Better suited in my golf-bag
*Might make the exposed end more difficult to wrap-up.

I did use them in the past when I was including them as swag for the shipment. The bottle koozy's also make a nice base layer of protection for shipping bottles.

Only makes sense if you can get them cheap though.

Exactly, I should have packed my bag the previous night and the next day would have been like "oh damn, a table of koozies, yes please"

I've used free promotional ones before on cans. Never any good ones that you'd be excited to get, but I have too many laying around and they make good packing material.
