Wow, only 2 pours per person. Must of bottled most of it this time around. And no bottles of JO or CV? Could you fill growlers of JO or CV? Any 5th left? Class X? Bottle sharing?

We got there around 1. No bottles of anything but Isabella. We were not limited on Citra pours although I heard a rumor that was the case.
Tried Black Rock, their black rye ipa, and Class X. Superb. Would've liked to stay all day but had to get back. Happy to get bottles but not sure I'd do it again unless staying over. Friday traffic getting out of LA and back through LA on the way home was brutal as usual. Hit Kinetic briefly on the way home. Fresh Torque was delicious.

Heading up to Kern now, but didn't get picked for Citra bottles. Bummed to hear there's no JO or anniversary available to take home.

I'm bringing along some goodies in case anyone is interested in trading any of their Citra bottles...Prairie Bomb, Pseudo Sue, Heady, Surly Wet, Gandhi-Bot. If anyone is interested, I'm the guy in the grey t-shirt with the pixelated state of California on it looking sad and Citra-less.

I disagree, to a point. Personally, I had never been there, so this was a chance to do it in a very orderly, comfortable way. The process for getting bottles was great, very easy and orderly. We sat, had a few beers, a nice lunch, filled a few growlers and were on our way. Like I said earlier, I doubt I'd do it again but have no plans to trade or brag about getting these. I plan to share a few around and drink the rest with friends. I haven't had the chance to get any for quite a while and for that reason, I'm glad I did it. Next time, if there is a next time, we'll stay over. The turnaround method sucks.

Citra kicked at 7pm. JO kicked around 8pm. I was very sad. The lack of bottles was a little disappointing also.

Anyone know if they still have kegs for tomorrow?

And no comments an this batch?

I've had various batches. Shit, I've had every batch so far, including the one at Firestone Invitational. This is on par with the best it has been.

And I don't say that to inflate the value of my non-existent FT/ISO Whalez brah thread. Talking to the workers, they felt that it's probably the best batch they made.

I will say this, yeah. The drive sucks. I was lucky to get up there on Friday morning, so I dodged a lot of traffic, but yeah, traffic coming back at night was a bit brutal once you past Bakersfield. And unless Class X is bottled and distributed, I'll have plenty of reasons to go back to the brewery and feel like I got away from it all. At least for a short time.

It is hard to argue that you can't get as good of a beer by just going down to Long Beach to Beachwood, but Citra is something that should be shared and enjoyed.

We were at the brewery until closing last night and heard there were no kegs for today, but I would definitely call the brewery and ask anyway. Things seemed pretty chaotic while we were there in both the afternoon and evening, so things could change or the people we heard that from were incorrect.

This year's batch is great. Just hard to get even on tap. Kegs kick in roughly an hour after bring put on, and that's it. Had one keg for the afternoon crowd, and one keg for the dinner crowd.

They fibbed a bit. Got here at 11:45 to pick up bottles to a packed house with multiple Citras on each table. Ordered 4 for our party, ended up catching the last pour on the first pint poured. Looks like I'll be forced to drink Class X all afternoon.

How's the wait to get a table or just order a point?

    you've lost your mind

tried Citra for the first time a few days ago at the brewery and brought 6 bottles back home. It absolutely takes a deuce on any shelf beer out there and rivals PtE. Amazing beer.

They're both damn good brews but I'd side with Citra. But I'll take this opportunity to say that Ithaca Flower Power is just as good as Citra and it's on the shelf all year long.

I had Flower Power recently for the first time while in NYC. It was very good. But not as good as Citra. IMO. I would put BW's Citraholic next to KRBC's Citra. Still different but close. Again IMO. I did not participate on this first lottery for the Citra. But come next Feb or Mar I will do the lottery thing. And hope they will have JO, Class V and others in bottles.

The lack of JO, Class V and anything other than Isabella was a bit of a bummer. But I guess that's why they don't do Citra that often, it takes up a large amount of brewing capacity and screws up the schedule of the other brews.

Are you talking about bottles? Because they certainly had all that you mentioned on draft. I brought home growlers of JO on Sunday. Also stopped at the beer cave place on my way on of town and grabbed 6 bottles of class V.
