Yes, but they also made so much of the 2007 that they essentially spent the next several years releasing it on many different occasions. Also, they were 187ml bottles (i.e. ~6.3 ounces).

Again, see my comment above. They will likely be bottling and releasing more of this batch of KRE over the next several years.

Also, where did this "5 years" figure come from anyway?

5 Year figure came from the brewery its self. This year they upped the allotment became they wanted to sell out of it and not hold on to any for years. They are selling out literally as fast as they can bottle it

Tell people about a release, get bitched at for how expensive it is and how it's not good. Now I remember why I don't post on the Great Lakes forum.

haha. I've never even been to an Aldi.

That being said, you'll always have people who bitch about everything. No reason not to post; don't let a few bad apples spoil the bunch.

So are wine barrels.... And besides you seem to be getting ripped off on your raspberry prices, I buy organic ones for cheaper than that.

Nobody said it wasn't good... I think you are just one of those people that believes the world is against you.

How does the last time it being brewed relate or translate to being worth $30? Shouldn't your response be more along the lines of, "Yes, very much worth it. It tastes like (insert opinons here)." I could brew a Turtle Piss Trippel every 5 years that doesn't mean it's any good. Rarity doesn't equal great taste. Personally, i did not enjoy this beer. I felt that the mouthfeel to syrupy, and the overall taste was that of cough medicine. The raspberry was prevailent, but i felt it fell very much on the back end of some harsh upfront boozy-ness. In my opinion it is not worth the price tag.

We were discussing this release pretty polite in this thread for quite some time:
    http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/kuhnhenn-blueberry-eisbock-release.64822/

Basically (with every single release anywhere now), people bitch about the price yet it is bought up quickly. For anyone that complains about the price, if you don't like it, don't buy it.

Now let's move on to the KBS thread so we can complain about something else...

Maybe he did not say its worth it because of ....... because it has been LOVED by 95% of the people in the KBE thread and others....Its fine you dont think its worth it...because a whole bunch of us do and think its well worth the price being the 187ml was $15 five years ago and this year it was a 375ml bottle..

I agree that the volume of the bottle doubled over 5 years so the price was justifiably doubled, but my personal preference for the beer does not justify me and only me spending the $ on it. I understand if you really love it, your going to buy it no matter price point. I wasn't making a statement that anyone is crazy for paying $30 for the beer, if i had really enjoyed the beer, i would have dropped the coin on it. I was just stating to the person who asked the question of "Was it worth it?" why i do not feel it is. I also feel with a question about a beer such as, was it worth it, the volume and price of a previous incarnation of the beer is somewhat irrelevant, as the question at hand is more the subject of taste, and really what you felt about the beer to justify spending the money on it. Conversely, the question of worth is completely up to the person who asked because no one can taste it for them. For example, based on the way BB4D tasted, i would pay 30$ for a single 12oz. Mainly for reasons that i absolutely love that beer and the way it tastes. If someone were to ask after i paid that amount, was it worth it (which leads me to believe they've not tried it), i would say something along the lines of, "In my opinion it's one of the very best beers i've ever tasted, it's got a ton of barrel, vanilla, toffee, and roasty malt character. Probably one of the most complex beers i've ever been fortunate enough to try, and deserves any and all praise it gets." Not, "Yeah, it's brewed and released once a year, so you know it's limited and good. Kuhnhenn isn't surrounded by hype either, they're the best Michigan brewery," that doesn't help anyone.

So much for Bret saying "I'm ashamed I don't make this beer every year."

There is a rumor that you guys will not brew Raspberry Eisbock again for 5 years. Is this true?
