I've expressed my displeasure with lack of dating of beers. One excuse offered has been the expense of the equipment to print the date codes. Well, I just bought my first beers from Tin Whiskers, a bomber of Ampere Amber and a bomber of Short Circuit Stout. Their bottles are clearly dated my month and year! The labels are pre-printed with: "This beer was bottled in 2015 on the month indicated below:" And below that are 12 white circles with the month printed inside. They then use a black marker to color in the bottled-on month. Now, their method would become burdensome above a certain volume, but for now, they deserve recognition and thanks for respecting their beer enough to provide consumers this information in a clearly readable form! Thanks, Tin Whiskers! (And, no secret decoder ring, string parsing with math, or web site look-up required, either. You can clearly see it right there in the store!) PS: To go OT on my own post, I checked the BA listing for the Ampere Amber, and someone got lazy and/or made an incorrect assumption based on the name of this beer. The beer is listed on this site as an Amber Ale. Yet, according to the Tin Whiskers web site, it is a California Common. In fact, they are quite explicit about that; quoting their web site: "BJCP Style: California Common, Style 7B". How do we notify the BA web site folks that a correction should be made on this?
Click on the "Report an Update" button, right sidebar on the beer's page, and fill out the "Submit a Change Request" form.
