Kuhnhenn Brewery

Anyone been here in the last 48 hrs? Any dripa growler fills? Looking to swing by tomorrow and hoping to at least get two growlers and hopefully some bottles if anything is around. Thanks

 

I was there a week ago and they were doing DRIPA. Also check out 99 weisenballons while you are there. I haven't made it up there for that one yet. Very upset I didn't see it when I was out that way yesterday..... Now I'm a month away from being close to there again.

 

Just there last night, no DRIPA growlers. 99 Weiseballoons was good but not great. Double Nut Brown was surprisingly solid.

I want to get a growler of the Weisenballoons with the Raspberry added and one with the Woodruff. I'm Kicking myself as I was close to there the other day but didn't know they were doing growlers yet.

 

I almost got a 1/6 barrel of 99 Weisseballoons but opted against it as I wanted something more for the season.

 

The added raspberries is what is tempting me to make the drive........... I have no idea what woodruff tastes like though.

 

Wait, really? I got a growler of DRIPA last night around 6 p.m.

 

I was there yesterday as well and she told me Dripa could be growlered as well as weisseballoons..Didnt get the weisseballoons as I expected a better beer...Maybe im being too judgmental and comparing it to Griffin Claws Weisse which was way better imo

 

Might be going this weekend with my parents, but I hate (read: HATE) shipping growlers cuz they make me so nervous. I'm sure someone can hook you up though. I leave for Mexico on Monday anyway.

 

Knowing I'm about a 30 minute drive from them makes me giddy. Unfortunately, they're a bit too expensive right now for a poor ol' student.

4D (yes, the regular 4D. I prefer it.), Raspberry Eisbock, and DRIPA are absolutely legendary.

 

This is the only time I'd agree that, in a head to head matchup, Griffin Claw would ever come out on top over Kuhnhenn.

 

Still haven't found my way to Griffin Claw... I heard they're pretty damn pretentious. I had their Screamin' Pumpkin at Boat Works and enjoyed it. Would it be worth a ~45 minute drive?

I mean, any place is worth going to once, and in this area, a 45 minute drive is nothing. I didn't notice a lot of pretentiousness there, I just think their beer is overrated.

 

My friends don't [like good beer], so them riding in a car for 45 minutes to a brewery would make them murderous.
