I was lurking on Kuhnhenn's official website, looking at their current tap list. I clicked on the DRIPA link and there's a statement saying the following:

    4pk 12-ounce bottles coming 2015

I understand I may be out of the loop, so is this a recent development? Any additional info on this?

@HopSavant this has been up there for a while, but I believe their plans are to ramp up their bottling when their Clinton Township facility opens (which I am not sure when that is supposed to happen) and do some of their year rounds in bottles. Wish they would get that facility open soon, love me some Kuhnhenn! Maybe @LiquidTable can shed some light on the subject?

From what I've heard, those will happen when the new production facility is up and running. My brother lives nearby and said he had heard it might not be until next year. I think it's anyone's guess at this point, and the best way to know is to probably follow them on FB and/or Twitter.

I would love to see 6 packs of The Fluffer someday, it's one of the best session IPAs I've had great mouthfeel and flavor for the low abv.

I don't know what the time line is on the new facility but a drive by there often and it looks like they haven't done anything in the past 6 months. The same fermentation tanks have been laying on their side in the parking lot since the fall.

Maybe this is like that time they 'found' all those cases of BB4D...I'm sure they misplaced the bottling line, so just as soon as they track it down we're swimming in DRIPA fellas.

It is definitely not a good sign to see construction stalled. This just doesn't happen unless there are fairly big problems. Maybe we'll see a Kickstarter campaign that provides DRIPA cans for life.

I've heard rumors from a friend that they have been getting tied up with licensing/legal crap from the state. Don't know how true it is but at the pace our government moves it may make sense as for why there has been such a long delay

You know, I suppose I never really stopped to think about it until you brought this up, but the type of license Kuhnhenn holds is important here.

It would appear that a Michigan's 'Brewer' license limits a brewery to 'sell to consumers for on-premises consumption from one, and only one, brewing facility in Michigan' where a 'Micro Brewer' license caps at 60k barrels but allows for sales for on-site consumption at multiple locations.

Most importantly, I don't think there's a floor for either license...so if Kuhnhenn is licensed as a 'Brewer' and not a 'Micro Brewer' I suppose they may be running into some guff from the state.

I'm certainly no lawyer, and am not in the industry, so maybe someone else can chime in here that maybe knows more about the situation.

Not sure I entirely followed the licensing arrangements, but they are already selling bottles on-site at least twice a year.

Hopefully if anything, that makes it easier for them to arrange larger bottle releases

They can't get mobile canning to come for a few days?

The point I was trying to make, albeit maybe not as direct as I should have, is if they have a 'brewer' license they may not be permitted to have two production facilities that BOTH have tap rooms.

I heard it may be a capital issue from a guy who may be in the know (or may be speculating or full of shit). Would it surprise anyone if Kuhnhenn's books were a mess?
