The event was posted by BA user "BJCPCO557", who if you click on his profile is from Warren, MI and shares a birthday with Bret Kuhnhenn. So there you go.

Was there a few weeks ago and spoke to an employee there. He said the bbbw is coming along great but wasn't sure if it was going to be ready. Said they brewed a monster batch of solar eclipse but it became infected and they had to dump the whole thing. Glad to see they are offering the 2009 version...bet its outstanding right now.

Don't know about your last point. Brought out a 2010 BBBW from the vault this weekend, and we were blown away by how amazing this was with a few years on it. I've got some other aged bottles - Solar Eclipse, 9 - that I should open to further test this proof.

Some people have been spooked by reports of infection in some of their beers, so that's probably just more of a cautionary suggestion than a rule of thumb.

Personally, I've had very few experiences with infected Kuhnhenn beers and I drink them constantly. Most recently, we've enjoyed the 2005 Nine Syrah Cask, 2004 KRE, 2005 Extraneous Cassis and several others. These have all aged gracefully over time with nary a sign of any sort of "off" qualities. Perhaps I've been lucky, but I've no reason to think that all of their beers should be enjoyed immediately.

I wasn't saying all are infected, just hit or miss. All the BA stuff I have had has been incredible (dating back to 2004), but I have had some other stuff go bad pretty quick.

They have a microbrewery license here in Michigan. If they were a Brewpub they could not send beer off site for sale. There are several brewpubs in Michigan that make more beer than Kuhnhenn's and sell it all in the Brewpub.

Appreciate the clarification on licenses. Knew I was probably using a wrong term to make my point.

Stopped in today. Reminded me of how much I love the laid back no frills atmosphere sans food.
Had a couple tastes (White Devil and Timmy T's) and walked out with a growler as all remaining bottles have been pulled for the Winter Solstice party. Ah well.
Biggest bummer.... no DRIPA. Been selling like gangbusters and next batch won't be ready for 2 weeks.
I guess I'll have to go back. Dang.

Both are very good breweries but I tilt my hat to Kuhnhenn for not going commercial and staying true to the game.
