Kuhnhenn Summer Solstice Party

Well I was planning on going but Im having a serious water issue at my house that needs to be addressed so I dont know if Ill make it. Dow the wheat beers hang around for a while after the party or is it basically get them today or not get them at all? Sucks too Ive been looking forward to this.

Yeah, but I'm not sure losing your license is worth a whole $2500...maybe I'm wrong though since they were Chicago guys and all

 

I was there and people were walking around all over the place with outside bottles sharing. I didn't hear a single waiter or member of management tell anyone to put anything away. I can imagine an outsider would believe Kuhnhenn is a BYOB bar given the atmosphere. I don't understand the logic of blaming someone in this instance when there were no warnings, and the only "punishment" from the establishment, if that's even true, was passive.

 

Perhaps that "atmosphere" became a concern worth adressing. I think we all got used to the old practice and enjoyed the bottle sharing, but I think it's better to have their business stay open than risk everthing on the opportunity to share outside beers.

 

About to head that way. I'll post once I get there if no one else has.

Exactly. While we enjoyed the old practice, they are under no obligation to allow it. It's illegal first of all, and once they felt it was either threatening their license or that people were abusing it, they shut it down. That's their right...it's their duty, in fact, if they want to keep their license.
I still think if you want to bring a bottle or two, it'd be alright as long as you're discreet, share with the Bros, and buy their beer.

Just sat down with my first sampler. No plain wit or fluffer. Nothing extra in bottles.

 

How are the sour wheats?

 

I liked the Cherry Sour, someone at my table liked the Raspberry as well.

 

I like the raspberry and blueberry, not really sour but both very good.

Agreed on the wheat wine, glad they bottled that one.

 

Just stopped to pick a few up and had the blueberry. Very light and drinkable. Plus a big thumbs up to the blonde bartender!
