Kuhnhenn Summer Solstice

Yup. Usually some decent beers. A lot of unique stuff some turns out some well doesn't but. Great time always had and they release bottles. Enjoy!

Bottle release details:
Bottle release beers include 4th Dementia Olde Ale (2013) and Solstice Stout (a 3-year barrel-aged blend of Solar Eclipse and 4D, rich and tasty at 16% abv).
We will be selling pre-packed 6-packs of the special release beers. You will not have the option to buy just one bottle. Per person purchasing limits will be announced in the coming days, but there is a super-limited amount of each available, so it won't be much per person.

 

Stoked. When did the line start last year for the Saturday festivities?

 

I don't remember there being a line in previous years for Summer. This isn't really a big release, it's much more of a party. There's no way in hell I'm going to get there early to line up.

 

Im guessing the line will be much different since everyone gets the same stuff. When they had an ala carte format and people were also trying to get the limited meads for sale, that probably incited a greater line.

 

Why do I get the impression that they forgot about a bunch of Solar Eclipse somewhere in some barrels, realized how undrinkable it was and decided to cut it with a bunch of 4D? LOL.

 

I got in line 30 minutes early last year and still got everything I wanted with exception of the hyped mead. This year should be much more manageable and shouldn't require you to be that early.

 

Unfortunately I have to work until 2:00. Probably won't make it there until 3:00. I hope there are some bottles left when I make it there. I will check this thread for updates.

 

I haven't been to this event in years and don't know how many people will be there, but knowing Kuhnhenn my advice is the same as always - order several beers at a time because service is slow at the best of times.

 

Barrel aged Eclipse was fantastic imo.....regular, not so much...lol

 

Should be a good time. Last release was smooth. A lot going on these next few weekends especially with founders day at OEB Saturday as well.

 

And the Royal Oak Summer Beer fest this Saturday.

 

Detroit Summer Beer Fest is this weekend as well at Campus Martius.

Skip that one, ran by a shady dude. Royal Oak one is much better and goes to a much better cause (Camp Casey).

 

Completely agree! Just thought it was worth mentioning.

 

GREAT cause! Was disappointed they didn't have many of the best-IMO-beers that were promised.
Maybe this year will be better.

 

I still haven't seen anything about bottle limits.....am I just missing it? Or is it yet to be determined?

Also, tap list for Friday/Saturday? (not that it really matters...I know it will be ridiculous...I just like to stare at it and get myself excited for these beers!)
