Kulminator (Antwerp)

My wife and I were very sad to find them closed during our time there in January. Still actually enjoyed Antwerp more than Brussels though.

 

what's the status as of now...? open/closed? curious...

 

They are open.

Tuesday - Saturday 4 pm - 12:00 am
Sunday closed

In the evening, he usually has a glass poured for himself behind the bar, and takes sips when he can. And he likes to be holding a beer for photos.

 

When buying something special from the cellar offering him a taste of it he sometimes takes a sip or two. And that can open doors at that place. Not everything is on the menu.

 

I had an enjoyable visit there two weeks ago yesterday. Drank a 77 chimay, a young westvleteren 12, and a Loterbol blond. I wish they still opened at noon, Paters Vaetje filled the gap nicely though.

 

If you want to start drinking in the morning in Antwerp, there is also 't Oud Arsenaal.
They are a short walk from Kulminator.

We're terribly sorry for this update on short notice,
but Kulminator will be closed starting from 18/04 till 26/04.
They'll be back open on 27/04 at approx. 4pm.

Not very odd. They usually shut down during zythos week.

 

Can anyone provide an update on how operations are going at the bar, Dirk's knee holding up, trips to the cellar, cat still alive, etc? I am planning a trip in late June & am curious on how everything is going ( I hope well). I will continue to check back. Thanks for any information. Cheers.

 

Couple weeks ago on a weeknight, cellar orders were cut off at 11pm, and the cat was on the prowl

 

When I was there in late March, there was not much noticeable difference in operations from a year earlier, as least to me. There are still 3 or 4 cats left, but they usually don't come out until most customers are gone.
