So amongst the "mediocre" beers I had last year were:

"Jam The Radar - Bottle Logic
BA Serpent Stout - The Lost Abbey
Dig My Earth - Browerji West
Very Good Hazy IPA's from Monish
Very Good West Coast IPA's from ESBC

Just saying, I seem to get a lot of good pours every year.

Is this BA Extreme Beer Fest, FWIBF, The Bruery Anv. etc.? No.

So pure whale hunters may be disappointed, but their are plenty of very good pours to be had."

Strike This! As pointed out in the next post, I mixed this up with the LA Beer Week fest.

    Sorry Rbarnes. My mistake.

You're conflating two different beer festivals.

LA Beer Fest on 4/7 is not the one you're thinking of. You're thinking of LA Beer Week Opening Gala which I also started going to when it was at Union Station. That's not until June, though.

LA Beer Fest is largely crafty beers, as in AB-InBev and Constellation brands everywhere with maybe *some* authentically independent local brewers. This is not the festival you should go to if you want to support local, independent breweries. For that, go to the Beer Week Opening Gala.

If you like The Burery's beer is definitely worth it. Lots of one offs and things pulled from the archive. Very good line up of breweries and since they know the audience ( RS and HS members - with big beer budgets ) they tend to bring something special.

    Oh man!

That's what I get for trying to do to many things at once. You're are absolutely right.

Yeah I think your thinking of the LA Beer Week Festival in June, as @SoCalBeerIdiot pointed out. Who is no idiot, IMO.

....which brings me to this question....
Since I can't find a spot that relates to, "yes another new brewery question". Has anybody heard of or been to Ten Mile in Signal Hill. A good buddy and co-worker had 2 different pours of their IPA's/pale ale at some joint the other day. Mentioned this to me and was surprised to see them in Signal Hill. I may have to stop in one day on the way home from work. Middle of the road IPA's? Worth stopping in?

    Cheers.

Except for maybe extreme beer fest, the LA Beer week fest is the best festival that is open to the public that doesn't require a secret handshake or knowing someone to get a ticket.
