A buddy of mine is headed to LA this week and I was wanting him to bring back a growler or a couple beers for me and Im looking for some good recommendations. IPAs, Pales, anything really (knuckle sandwich??)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Knuckle sandwich would probably be bottled only. But the list of Bootleggers stuff is pretty extensive. Also hit up places like Noble Ale Works. They have cheap growlers and probably don't ever get seen in your parts. Eagle Rock Brewery would also be a possibility. And if they don't mind driving out to the edge of L.A., Ladyface is great and offers growlers on most everything there not on nitro. Check their live board online.

Second Ladyface (mostly for Chesebro DIPA and anything else special) and Eagle Rock (I like Populist a lot). If your friend can make it to Long Beach Beachwood BBQ and Brewing makes some seriously spectacular hoppy beers, and El Segundo Brewing Co has been doing great stuff too.

Whart part of LA exactly? Is your buddy willing to drive? There are a number of LA/OC breweries that have IPAs, etc. available for growler fills.

    I would suggest:
    Beachwood BBQ (Long Beach)
    Golden Road Brewring (Los Angeles)
and like a thousand others :sunglasses:

Sorry, forgot to mention, he is staying near LAX, will have a car and is willing to drive. Love all the recommendations, I was looking at Ladyface and got excited, but it looks like its almost 2 hrs away from LAX(unless I was looking at it wrong), I think he will be going to LB though.

in that case, El Segundo is really close, and Beachwood isn't too far at all. Ladyface is a ways out there, probably not two hours but a long-ish drive, and eagle rock and golden road are all the way across town (a totally manageable drive at off hours, but during rush hour it could take about an hour).
