Here a link that gives us a preview of this year's LA Beer Week.

I'm sad to see that they won't be repeating the Union Station event this year. I really enjoyed having the
classic ticket lobby room reserved for us with the breweries setup behind the ticket windows, unlimited pours, lots of great beers on tap, and easy access to people from the breweries. Not to mention the many public transportation options.

Hopefully the Chinatown event will be a good replacement.

Was already annoyed with my wife's friend for scheduling her wedding on a fall Saturday (Sept. 27). Now I find out it's cutting me out of the last three days of L.A. Beer Week too. Her friend is making it very difficult to like her...

This is where I would convince my wife that, not ONLY would she have more fun WITHOUT me there, but the bride would NEVER NOTICE me missing anyway so she should totally take one of her "fun" friends instead and have a great time. LMK if it works and we can hang out at LA Beer Week.

I've considered it, believe me. I'm a big college football fan and have a very strict rule against fall Saturday weddings (going so far as to convince my wife that my own wedding would not occur during football season).

Hoping I can still make the most of the 20th through the 25th, and that there are a few more events closer to Santa Monica/Venice/MDR this year.

I hope the price for the festival is better than last year. I attended a boycott LA Beer Week bottleshare that day instead.

Most everybody is trying to cash in on the craft movement.

I know a number of people were unhappy with the $70 price tag, but I thought it was worth it. The venue was great. It was the first and only time I’ve been in the Union Station ticket office room, which is usually not available to the public. I guess I just like these old train stations. The limited number of tickets kept it from being too crowded. The brewery representation was very good with many breweries bringing one time beers brewed specifically for the event. Unlimited pours meant you could taste everything you wanted to. My only complaint was the use of plastic tasting cups. At $70 per ticket, glass would have been nice. Although, I suspect the use of plastic cups may be due to some city ordinance or regulation.

As for this year, who knows? Hopefully the move to Chinatown will mean lower ticket prices. We will just have to wait and see.

Last years event sucked...$70(or $75 i can't remember) for nothing very rare or that interesting. I had been to the previous two years which were cheaper and had the same(if not better) selection. Food was also advertised as being part of the event and not only was there no food included with that price, but there were practically no food options to buy. Shitty soft pretzels anyone? Mmmmm....

I'll never go to another LA beer week gala until they step up their beer selection or lower the price significantly. Food was a serious problem that needs to be addressed this year in Chinatown.

Too bad it won't be at Union Station this year. Last year, we went straight to Philippe's down the street right after the fest. So good.

You do realize that it's about the same distance to Philippe's from the Chinatown Plaza... in fact, I think it's even closer.

Why the big drop in price?

Maybe backlash from last year's price? The LA Beer Guild is taking over LA Beer Week, so that may also have something to do with it. Just for those unaware, the only beers pouring at this festival from what I understand will be from LA County breweries.

If this is confirmed, so far it's a good list. Surprised to see Alpine in there. Or is it Alpine/Green Flash? Big Dog Beachwood is a must. Bonus would be Kern and Societe added to this list.

I've never been but thought LA beer week was, a week. Is it really only on one day? That's the same day for the California Beer Festival in Ventura, the next Barrelworks release AND Zwanze Day!?
