It looks like this event sold out. Does anyone have an extra ticket to the event in Chinatown? VIP preferred but general admission works too. Thanks.

That went from having hundreds of tix available to sold out REAL QUICK. I got VIP tix, but only the one for me. If I hear of anything, I'll let ya know.

Well the whole point is featuring L.A. brews, so yeah, certainly not going to have much in terms of rarities... at least not yet. Those who want to find great L.A. selections already know where to do that outside of Beer Week, so tough to impress that crowd at an event like this.

Yeah but the breweries aren't bringing anything special with the exception of maybe Stone. At the very least, brew up a special batch of something to debut at the fest.

Looks like the fest is for people who have never been to these breweries before.

Also fair. Only one that really stands out as new is El Segundo Wallet Dropper from a quick glance, along with Might As Well (which is going to be in cans everywhere within the week). There's only a handful of breweries that went and made new beers just for LABW overall.

There's people that like going to fests for a good time and not to tick rarities.

Also, I personally have only had like 10% of the beers on that list.

I'd say that outside of FoBAB & FWIBF, almost every beer festival isn't meant for ticking rarities! Most fests are to promote a single brewery & beer release with some guests invited or to celebrate a region. This one is the latter, and I'm super excited to see many of the LA beer scene people I've met over the years and to do it so close to home!

This beer list works for me.

While I do enjoy my share of rare beers, I'm generally equally pleased to try a well made, widely available, easy to get beer.

There is enough on this list to make for a satisfying day for me.

BTW: What other LABW events do you have your eye on? I'm thinking about stopping by ESBC when they release Power Plant on the 27th.

This isn't a "I want to dirnk Walez!" festival and is more a "Oh hey, that beer is really good! I'm going to drink all the Duet and Lilikoi Kepolo" festival.

Other than opening day. Are tickets still available for this for other days? Other days still have the same tap list?

I think you are confused about this event. It's only one day and its to kick off the LA Beer Week throughout town from the 20th-28th (and probably a few days after here and there I'm sure). This tap list is ONLY for this kick off event and its currently sold out.

I am confused. That's why I am asking...
So other than the 20th, what's the life story on what/where is going on?

Thanks. So it's not a specific event everyday for a week. It's dozens of small events at dozens of different places throughout the week. Gotcha.

I thought I saw Kern River on the Brewery list way back over a month or two ago. Oh well. Glad I'm not going.
