    Hi all,

So I have to go to LA for a pharmacy conference at the LA convention center in the beginning of March. I'll be staying in the Sheraton nearby for a few days and I'm the only one from my pharmacy going so I need to find something to do. Are there any must see bars I should hit up within walking/public transportation distance in that area while I'm there?

    Thanks

Also on a related note, if any of you west coat people wanted a BCS, double daisy cutter or hopslam, I could bring one of those for a trade if anyones in the area then.

The only place that is close to the convention center is Yardhouse. All the must see bars are outside DTLA. There's a few solid bars and stores in DTLA. As far as bars go, you can't go wrong Wurstkuche, Beer Belly, Spring Street Bar, and Little Bear. If you want to visit a whiskey bar, there's always 7 grand.

As far as liquor stores go, I hear that BUZZ wine beer shop and Jason's wines and spirit are pretty good stores.
All of these places are fairly close with public transportation.

You can also take the http://www.metro.net/riding/maps/red-line/
    from Downtown LA to Hollywood.

If you can make it to Hollywood, I would highly recommend Blue Palms restaurant for a nice Pliny fix and some other fine beers (which is a must go to bar).

I'm down for some BCS and some other beers. Send me a message.

I used to work in DTLA. Along with suggestions above.

There's the Library Bar (http://librarybarla.com/), caddy corner from the Standard Hotel, easy walking distance from the Sheraton/Convention Center. Not a great selection, but nice place to meet people and hang out.

The Edison (http://www.edisondowntown.com/) is a little further outside DTLA, closer to Little Tokyo. Again, not a great selection, but cool ambiance.

I'd be open to Daisy Cutter/Hopslam trade. I should be around in March.

Springstreet bar is cool. Little Bear is a must.

A taxi out to Ramirez would be a worthy adventure.

Let's see.. were can you go via the metro lines - Blue Palms and Buzz is cool.

Agree with Squid, the drive out to Ramirez would be worth it. Also if you're near little Tokyo there's Far Bar. Cheers!
