My brother is flying home for the holidays and he said he'd pick me up La Folie or Le Terroir in Denver. Are these easy to find in the area? Sounds like Argonaut is out. I haven't lived in Denver for almost 7yr so I'm not sure if these should still be kicking around on the shelves.

Is there anything else available in Denver that is a backup if he can't find something from the Lips of Faith?

    Thanks for any suggestions

La Folie is almost always around, I'm sure he can find it. Le Terroir I haven't seen in a good month or so.

If you can't find what you're looking for, I'd say try some beers from Trinity, particularly the Red Swingline. If you're looking for sours I know a lot of stores still have Goose Island's sisters and Crooked Stave still has L'Brett d'Or at the brewery, possibly Origins.

Denver is the worst place to buy those two beers, almost twice the price of elsewhere

I heard something about a $16 price tag.

I'd like something from CO that I can't get back in MA. I have a Crooked Stave membership for 2014 so I'm confident I'll get to try my fair share of their beers.

$16 would be a pretty good price if you could find La Folie for that.

The Trinity rec is a good one for local beers with brett. If you are open to other styles, think about grabbing some Odell. Or Funkwerks.

Thanks. Used to drink a ton of Odell when I lived there. Funkwerks available in Denver?

Yes but their more limited stuff is brewery only. Have your brother get in touch with me if he can't find Le Terroir. I can probably help you out.

:slight_frown: doesn't help me either since I don't get up that way often

    Fortunately, it helps me

(and looks like you caught my post before I deleted....I just double checked their last facebook post on their upcoming releases, and it looks like their Bourbon Barrel Quad is going to be available in all Funkwerk accounts, so was trying to delete that last post and repost with this more accurate info.)

As for Bourbon Barrel Quad....guess it will be replacing Dark Prophet as their winter release? Probably a smart move on their end as Dark Prophet wasn't their best work, IMO.

I think I convinced him to stop by The Source on his way home tonight and pick up some L'Brett D'or, the holiday beer they have, and a citra dry hopped.

Do you have any empty bottles of La Folie or Le Terroir? I couldn't spend the money on either of those, but I really liked the bottles. BM me if you do.

When I called the brewery they didn't mention Origins. I would've snagged that. Thanks for the heads up.

It was there on Friday night. Would be surprised if they sold out with the amount on the shelves.

Some things don't change. Same sad story this year in regard to the pricing for Le Terroir in CO compared to outside the state.

I mean it makes sense, why wouldn't it cost less when you have to ship beer 1000 miles across the country than 60 miles down the road.

As lame as it is, Le Terroir is still worth buying at any price they feel like charging for it. It's insulting we pay more for it, but at least it's a worthwhile beer. When it's fresh it's second only to Eric's Ale and maybe Batch 1/Persica Batch 1 from CO.

Where else is it available and how do you know it's so much cheaper elsewhere? I'm not calling you out, I totally believe you, just curious...

    Online shops.

Price is listed at said online shops, and know what it's priced locally at several shops.

Fine if you are. I could care less.
