Just moved to Denver from Chicago. Last year I bought 6 bottles of Le Terroir in IL for $8 a bottle. Just picked up a 2014 bottle here in CO and paid $18 :slight_frown:

Christ - anyone ever asked why that's the case? I can remember being in school in FTC in 2005/6 and when I would go down to Boulder to hang with friends, we'd go to Liquor Mart and all NB stuff would be minimum $2 cheaper per 6 pack in Boulder. It always pissed me off, and now hearing that is even more ridiculous. Wow.

My theory? Coors distributes NB locally, and they also sell their own line of expensive sours. They don't want to price their own beers out of the market, so they jack up the price of NB sours to compensate.

I still say it's to introduce the brand to other markets that aren't as familiar, less of a price shock to keep growing the company.

Though everytime I've ever brought it up to anybody with NB, they tell me it's a mistake, in pricing or labelling, and that it costs the same everyplace. If I show online shops with lower prices, they say it's not them, it's a pricing mistake. Should all 18. I don't believe it, it's always been like this, but...whatever, I'll stop asking, it makes no sense to me.

It's been this way at least as long as I've lived in CO (about 3.5 years). Same with La Folie, which is way more common since Le Terroir has only been released a few times, and the first year it was way cheaper. But La Folie has consistently been in the high teens here and $8-10 back home in WI.

Here's what they said last year. Curious what they'll say this time.

That colossal mess-up has been going on for 3+ years...so it's apparently larger than we can comprehend.
