So its like there is a new brewery opening up every minute. I just wanted to do a quick recap of new breweries to check out. Please contribute to the list if i left anything out:

    MacLeod Ales - Van Nuys
    Absolution Brewing - Torrance
    Barley Forge - Costa Mesa
    Phantom Carriage - Carson
    Three Weavers - Inglewood

Anyone visit of these yet? I visited Barley Forge a few months ago and had an overall pleasant experience. Nothing that would wow a big BAer but pretty good beer and overall nice vibe and aesthetic. Also gets bonus points because there's virtually nothing of merit in the area (that I know of)

Absolution is mediocre, Barley Forge is pretty good, Phantom Carriage is fantastic

Phantom carriage and MacLeod are both awesome for what they do. I'd recommend both to anyone who hasn't already been.

I vouch for both of them as well. MacLeod is pretty specific, so do some research to enjoy it  PC is just purely fantastic. In fact I'm heading there in a couple hours.

Phantom Carriage has potential. Liked their stuff, in the baby pour sizes they offer.

Absolution - gotta put them in a tier with Angel City, sad to say. Nice guys though, so hope their product improves.

You're right about that! You need to go to MacLeod with the mindset that you'll be drinking English style session ales and that's it.

I'll also be hitting up phantom later on today. I'd love to have a beer with you if you're around when I'm there!

    Cheers!

MacLeod is a chill atmosphere with super solid low ABV cask and nitro English style beers. I was there last night and they have some great stuff on tap right now.

I've been really digging the patsy from Barley Forge lately. Coconut Rye Stout. The nose on that beer is insane!

Went to Three Weav3rs this week, best beer IMO is the Expatriate IPA. Had it at 38 Degrees prior to Three Weav3rs opened up & is still solid. 9 beers on tap, still had bottles of the Messenger (collab w/ Noble) for $11. Growler fills of everything on tap.

Absolution is an absolute pass. Nice tasting room, but beer is mediocre at best. Way behind Smog City & Monkish, probably evens Dude's.

Phantom Carriage is an up & comer. Great place once you get inside. Food is solid, atmosphere is cool. Beer is good, keep in mind they serve 3.5oz tasters, but they do have guest beers on tap & guest bottles.

The Hermosillo/Highland Park Brewery is great. Best place in LA IMO w/ IPA's Saisons, porters & good vibe. They also have guest beers & guest bottles (along w/ theirs that are in-house only), but you would be better served drinking theirs. Only 2 beers available for growler fill.

May as well add Dudes (though argusbly skippable). Great looking tasting room. Beers have a way to go

Three Weavers shows a lot of promise
