But if getting bottles or growlers filled is a priority at Alpine, call them first to make sure that they will be able to sell them to you at the time that you are planning. Things seem to change there as if when they will do certain things and it usually has to do with dopey things like if a cooler is working or not in the brew pub and they won't fill growlers at the brewpub, but only at the brewery, so you have to make sure that part will be open. Also to see what they have available in bottles/growlers, as the last time I was there they didn't have any bottles at all and directed me to the gas station next door where I only found 2 of their beers that I didn't care about. They are a little quirky, but worth a visit if you plan it correctly. But unless Alpine is a personal priority for you, it is a big commitment for a trip with limited time. You can get a lot more accomplished around OC and LA county or even in other parts of SD county, because Alpine is way out in the boons, with nothing else of beer interest near by.

Heading back out later this week. Hit up Beachwood BBQ & Hi Times Liquor Store on my last visit both great spots. I'll be getting in late Wednesday night. Are there any late night bottle shops or craft bars between LAX and Costa Mesa? I'd love to stock up before I head to the hotel. Any new releases to be on the lookout for?

    Thanks for the help.

Hit up Stearns Liquor off the 405 Freeway in Long Beach on your way from LAX to Costa Mesa. Fantastic selection.

California Heights Market In Long Beach is world class as well, gets the same goodies as Stearns with less hype and crowds

It's not really much of a mystery. They won't sell you bottles in the pub when the brewery is open. They won't sell you growlers at the pub, ever. Otherwise, check their Facebook page and see what's available in bottles / for growler fills during their listed hours.
