So earlier today I went to my local store and was browsing around when I happen to stumble upon a La Trappe bottle on the bottom shelf all the way in the back with no label on it, just a white sticker saying it is oak aged Isid'or. The guy at the register had no idea what it was and didn't even know they had it in stock. Since I really know nothing about La Trappe, maybe you guys can shed some light on how old this bottle is, or why there is no label in the first place?
See the link. Good stuff. I have not seen Oak Aged Isid'or--is it cork and cage? Their oak aged beers typically are--can't find that on their site. Not sure why a label would have fallen off. Usually has the traditional La Trappe label. Unless fire selling--would stay away. If cheap--good mystery beer. http://www.latrappetrappist.com/en-en/trappist-beers/la-trappe-isidor/
It is in a 375 mL unmarked bottle and is corked and caged with a gold La Trappe cover piece on top of the cork.
Well, it is not so old considering it's Trappist pedigree and oak-aging. La Trappe was able to reclaim the name, having formerly been De Koningshoeven, a rare Dutch Trappist brewery. This beer will be just fine for sure.
