I am planning a Metrolink weekend day trip to one of the 3 places. Which one? I've been to Oceanside a half a dozen or so times. Pomona recently by way of a vehicle. But not LAUS. The obvious choice would be LA. Why? Why not?
You can walk to Angel City, Mumford and Arts District brewing from LAUS(or take the gold line one stop). LAUS is historically significant and very beautiful.
Walk right past Angel City... (ok, no stop in and imagine how cool that space would be to have a bottle share there or if Modern Times had taken over that location) You can also walk to Philippe the Original which is right by Union Station. Far Bar has solid taps en route/near breweries mentioned above. Half a mile "the other way" from Union Station is a nice little gem called Melody Lounge that has decent taps and chill vibe. Find someone nice to take you to HPB too.
Plan 1 was a fail yesterday am. So plan 2 was to ride the metroLink from Anaheim to DTLA Union Station. After lunch in KoreaTown we hit up Beer Belly. Always a good stop for beer and dessert. Back over to JTown in DTLA a nice rehydration spot inside the Far Bar. We then ventured off to Mumford Brewing and finished off our DTLA visit before catching the last train back to Disneyland area. Or is it Angel's area? But we weren't finished yet. A quick in and out at the new Green Cheek down the way before calling it a day. Mumford will def be a go to place when I'm in the area. Damn I need to get back over to HpB.
Lmao! Walking by past Angel City is my go to advice. I used to be a big defender of DTLA, then I went to mumford, and though the brew was on point, it was the first time I've ever described the area as "District 9 ish". We need to bring by mental hospitals...*goes back to politics forum
Lol. I didn't think it was all that bad. Yes Mumford is probably the go to brewery of all the places to go. I need to visit LA Arts Brewing. Not sure about Angel City. But getting to and from Union Station wasn't like a war zone. I've walked the streets in Chicago, Boston, Denver (oh the sweet smell in the air), Manhattan/Brooklyn, etc. and I would have to say walking the streets of Brussels getting to Cantillon is the scariest so far. We just happened to be in Brussels exactly 2 weeks before the airport and subway bombings last year.
I'm a big fan of Arts District. Everything I've had there has been very well executed. It's a cool hangout with a group too, though it does get crazy busy.
