Heading to Valencia California this week and was wanting some insight as to what local beers I should squeeze in the checked bag upon my return to Indiana. Any readily availables I should consider that I can't get back home? Looking for a good bottle shop in the Valencia area as well. Thanks
While I am do not know Valencia that well, I do not think there are many great places to buy stuff. Newhal Refinery has a decent tap list. Guessing you are flying in/out of Burbank, so maybe you could stop at Handy Market in Burbank. There are a couple breweries out there doing average stuff that might be cool to stop at? There is a bevmo in Valencia, that may be your best bet out that way.
Cans/bottles Sunrise spirits, Micheals Liquor, whole Foods all have better craft than bevmo Taps Newhall refinery and Southern Smoke Bbq are across the street from each other Microbreweries. If you need to tick Wolf Creek and Pocock But, if you can borrow or STEAL a car, go to Firestone Walker in Buellton. Worth the drive.
Thanks Marticus. Sunrise was excellent. Walked in to actually find bottles of Barrel Roll, Black Tuesday, and FStone's Stout offerings at the front counter just right there. After gazing in amazement I dropped $150 and left quickly and quietly with my purchase. You would never find Darklord or other coveted whales simply on the shelf back home. Thanks again. Cheers.
You found Black Tuesday? That beer isn't distributed, guessing the guy just bought a bunch and is illegally selling it at a huge mark up. $150 for those sounds like highway robbery. I hope the barrel role was puguchev. All 3 of those should cost no more $80+tax.
Actually 3 Barrel Roll Puguchev's, and 2 Firestone XX's for $149. $30/each for those 5 beers are worth it for me. Back east I'm paying $50+/bottle + shipping for these. He wanted $50 for the BT's. Thanks again though for hooking me up.
