Wondering if I can get some recommendations from this group.

My wife and I are coming to LA in August. Where do you suggest we stay if we are looking for access to great beer, fun places to walk to and beach? General area and specific locations, even hotels would all be welcome.

    Thanks in advance!

You can stay in the Long Beach area. Access to both Beachwood BBQs, Naja's Place, etc. Fairly easy drive to LA and OC for places like The Bruery.

Congregation Ale House is next door to Beachwood BBQ in Long Beach as well.

In the Belmont Shore area of Long Beach, you can hit Simmyzees, a craft brew pub with dozens of rotating taps, theres Quinns with at least 15 rotating taps and Beechwood in Seal Beach is just over the Bridge. The Shore has tons of shops, places to eat and it's right on the beach, beautiful place.

    Cheers.....

The South Bay Beach Cities have a few great spots near the water. Naja's Place on the Redondo Beach Pier, Mediterraneo on the Hermosa Beach boardwalk, Simmzy's near the Manhattan Beach pier, off the top of my head.
