Lacing Pictures (2025)

@DavetotheB Well, that sounds like an invitational challenge, so I have to come up with something. Actually your lacing is fairly well loaded.

Besides the smiley face that you mention (kind of bug-eyed?) there's another one just to the upper left of it, although not as obvious.

Then in the area where the glass is at its narrowest point is a bunch of two-eyed whatchamacallits that are staring at you.

Finally, just to the upper right of those goofy characters are the letters bAY, or 6AY. Is there a message there for you?

 

This is the result of two pours of Orval. The lacing at the top is sporadic blotches, at the bottom is an irregular mess of the collapsed remnants of the head that clearly outlasted the drink.

I finally figured out what those two-eyed whatchamacallits are while watching an I-phone commercial. They are camera lenses looking for a phone to land on.

 

All I got is a small bird that is Flying Dog Brewery-esque. Maybe just to the left of it is a swimming dog (or frog) that has a big black spot on its back.

 

Yeah, I get the scary skull, but I don't know what to call the figure in the upper right of your marked area.

In the upper pic, I get a small weather-vane rooster (long neck and legs) near the rear beer level line (just left of center).

 

This is after four pours from two bottles.
The first was out of the fridge for 15 minutes, still to cold, it foamed to fast and created a blob of icecream. The 2nd was out for 45 minutes and poured better with a smaller collapsed head blob, this is at the bottom of the glass.
At the top is the icecream blob, it stuck there during the 3rd pour/2nd bottle. I see an impossible to climb rock outcrop.
My first Orval experience, you live and learn. Cheers.

 

I was curious what beer produced this pillowy lacing. I think Orval has the reputation of producing a nice head/lacing.

Mark Rothko & Jackson Pollock collaborate on a painting but they can only use tan paint? The beer is Dark Star from Fremont.

 

I gottcha' for a 3-ball snowman with arms in the upper left just below the top layer of lace. Maybe it's a snowwoman since it looks like it's wearing a woman's pill hat.

 

Just a bunch of confused *********s trying to form a triangular shape, or a Christmas tree with level garlands.

 

Got some nice lacing from Human Robot's Czech Pale Lager..

The top looks like snow covered mountains...appropriate for Montana, I assume!

 

In the top pic, just below the center heart, I see a small dog with rear peg legs, and to its right is a small fish. Just above that center heart is a spider that has been smashed flatter than a pancake. Strangely I don't get anything in the lower pic.
