Hey all. I have a bit of lactose powder that as been sitting in my fridge for almost 2 years now. I want to use it in a brew but I am not sure if it has gone bad or anything like that. I assume that it is fine but I figured I would check and see if anyone had any further info on this. Any suggestions are helpful, cheers.

Does it smell and taste okay? I only ask because the fridge is probably not the best place to store lactose. I can tell you that if stored in a dry place, it's good for years at least.

i would expect any sugar to last virtually indefinitely. it is a preservative after all.
Vike is right though. your refrigerated lactose may be have a bit of Arm and Hammer going on. let it warm to room temp. if it smells ok and tastes ok then it is ok.
    Cheers.

Agree with previous posters. Get it out of the fridge and store in a dry spot. Evaluate whether it smells/tastes funny before using.
