This was a birthday splurge. Slight shipping delay from the storm, but happy to have them!

I finally got a mixed case of the Wild East beers. Three of them are lagers. Didn't try everything yet, but Fervor & Defiance (Czech Dark Lager) and Patience & Fortitude (Czech-Style Pilsner) are fantastic.

What’s the word on singlecut plain top? They have apparently replaced their old “house” pils 19-33. Plain top is coming I at $12 per 4-pack, which is super solid compared to other craft in NYC which You’re gonna pay $14-$17 for. Gonna grab some when I get a chance. I’ll report back.

So I scored some singlecut plain top Pilsner. It’s crispy AF. One of the most crushable beers I’ve had in awhile. Gives off some nice subtle Fresh grains and a hoppy profile that is noble with a touch of American hops to differentiate it slightly. I got a grape thing off of it that leaned green apple-y for a few sips. While drinking one of my cans these hard apple cider notes reared their head, but soon blew off. For $12 per 4-pack it’s probably one of the best value lagers in NY. Pretty much the same price per ounce as grimm lite.

Yo it’s summer and this thread needs a bump. Funny when I searched back for this the last post was mine about singlecut. Well sticking with that theme...

singlecut smiles returning to faces helles lager is a really nice one. Definitely buy it if your a lager fan and it’s available to you. I’m not one to be able to tell if it’s “true to style” but it tastes very German to me. So clean with a nice malt finesse and some subtle lemon and spice hop presence. The beer is more on the super clear crispy end of the spectrum vs say a threes what might have been which is a little more of a slight haze creamy lager with what seems like a bit of yeast and rustic malt protein in suspension (which I love as well). This one reminds me a bit of the other half collab they did with the German brewery. I like this singlecut one better than that though.
