Oh, I had it a while back. I wasn't disappointed. You can't go wrong with the price on pretty much any Lagunitas either. Cheers.

Sucks was just so danky, danky, danky this year. Especially when it first was released. An amazing beer.

Well, if there's ever any question about how different everyone's palate is, the recent posts concerning how good or bad Sucks and Nighttime is serves as a perfect example. Some people love/seek it out, while others think it tastes like burnt cardboard and alcohol... I know everyone is different, which can be a beautiful and perplexing thing. I just read the latest posts, shook my head, and cracked open my last 22 of Nighttime. This is the best $4.39 cardboard/alcohol beer I've ever had lol..

HAHA coming from the guy that gave Hi Res a 5 and Kona Castaway a 4.5 giving NightTime a 1 and Sucks a 1.5. I think were done here

I like how you elaborated on the flavors. Using bad is a great descriptor.

Coming from the guy who gave Thomas Hooker Watermelon a 4. And gave Hi-Res a 4.25. I didn't know a .75 swing was such a huge deal.

    People have different tastes WHOAMG.

I realize that everyone has different tastes and understand how you can dislike these beers, but to state that a beer is not well made simply because you dislike it causes you to appear haughty and pretentious.

He's probably right. The problem can't possibly be with his personal preferences and palate. It MUST be a terrible beer!

to be fair, NJ hasn't seen a fresh shipment of Sucks in years, so his judgment may be skewed. only reason I know personally Sucks is world-class when fresh is because I got it fresh in Portland frequently when I lived there. every bottle I've had of it in NJ is very malt-forward. hopefully Lagunitas' new Chicago location will make getting Sucks fresh in NJ possible. as it is today, most of their beers are a month old by the time they hit shelves.

Is there any Lagunitas that you DO like? I have never heard anyone say that Sucks is not a good beer. Maybe you prefer something else but saying 'it isn't good' is pretty out of the norm.

No, there's not much I like from them Their IPA is pretty good, but overall I just don't like the flavors they go for and their inability to hide alcohol.

Actually I forgot WTF, I quite enjoyed that one.

I am hearing more and more that July is when the 32oz Sucks will start hitting wide distro. Anyone else hearing that?

That's kind of what I was figuring. I had a bottle that was 4 months old on Tuesday. Still ok, but nowhere near as floral and juicy as the <30 day old bottles I was getting earlier this year. I have no desire to turn this into a thread full of battling reviews, but it's just very surprising to hear someone call it "unbalanced". The balance of bright tropical fruit and juicy bitter citrus was the most notable characteristic to me.

Cant wait for these to hit KY. We are always last to get the good ones! All we have locally is IPA.

Around here (Boston) Sculpin bombers were priced around $8-10 and sat on the shelves for months. The six packs are $14. Still very pricey, but literally less than half the price of the same beer in bombers. It probably deserves its own topic, but I hate IPA bombers with a passion One-off or limited releases? Ok, I guess I get it. But for year-round beers? It's just price gouging.
