I'll grab another six tomorrow, a few for next week Dallas game.

I gambled and bought a case as soon as I found it last Tuesday. Glad I did. It's ridiculously good!

This beer is nuts. Possibly the best I've had all year. Lagunitas was like "oh, the NE is the only place that can make ridiculously juicy, dirty IPAs? And then dropped the mic".

I'm from SF Bay Area, ie Lagunitas land, and I would hardly go that far and call it NE juicy.

We can make them (see Cellarmaker and Fieldwork) but Lagunitas is pretty far from that style at the moment. I suppose it's the closest they've come, but it feels and tastes really different.

Yet it is quite balanced (though that is probably due to my hop biased palate)
    Delicious too!

Wegmans in King of Prussia, PA had 5 or 6 cases when I went for lunch around 1:00pm. They were on a cart about to be stocked on shelves.

I bought a sixer in Frederick MD on Friday 10/20. This beer is a game changer IMO. World class made, NE Style IPA, nationally distributed fresh.

This beer's really great, but it's not even close, IMO, to a NE style IPA. And I'm sure Lagunitas is fine with that because they weren't attempting to make one anyway. Just having the word "unfiltered" apparently requires the comparison now.

    Unless this --

So if Laguntas has the ability to put an actual bottled on date, whey the hell still use the Julian dates? I can't be alone here

And next I suppose you want it printed in high contrast ink on the label, instead of the current dark ink on the brown neck impossible to read without 1000 lumens of backlighting?

To be fair this is a PA/ IPA, you can't compare to a big double at 8% plus. Two totally different beers IMO. Keep this as an IPA it's world class.

Here's my contribution to this thread in terms of, "Is it a 'New England-style' IPA or not?"

First picture is of Lagunitas Born Yesterday from the bottle obviously. All the bottled beers are in the same lighting.

Next up is The Substance from Bissell Brothers. I assume many consider this a "New England-style" IPA.

And finally, Trillium's Sleep Street IPA.

I apologize, two part post...more images, and a conclusion...

Next up just for fun, two different drafts. One is a Trillium beer, the other is Born Yesterday. Not exactly the same lighting unfortunately. Can you guess which one is which? There's a free Born Yesterday for the winner...just kidding...or am I?

In my opinion, both in appearance and flavor, this is a "New England-style" IPA. And it was awesome. This could absolutely be a game changer if they can distribute beer this quickly to consumers. And most importantly, according to some at least, it is in the "style" that beer geeks love.

Awesome beer, I really liked it. However, I had it side by side with Trillium and those still do edge it out  But honestly, along with Waldo's Lagunitas is really stepping up their IPA game.

The ability to get this nationally in 4 days or so would be a game changer if it was repeatable, and consistent. I'm all for it, just finishing up my last one.

Good looking out, I stopped by there and grabbed a sixer, noticed that the guy walking out right before I paid did the same. It wasn't out on the display yet but people were grabbing from the cases, noticed that one full case was just about gone already after my grab. It rang up for $12.99, not too bad I suppose.

I had one bottle already and while good, I was not blown away. Definitely worth the purchase, though!
