Had this on tap this evening and was blown away. Best Lagunitas I've had by far.

I thought the same thing. Last year's was really complex arromatically. This one is tropical...and good, but not something that really grabbed me.

wondering how much batch to batch variability there is for this one...the ones i picked up aren't that hazy - certainly nothing approaching NE ipa levels. still delicious though!

Weird, your picture and one of the first ones on this thread that I quoted in my post above, do not look nearly as hazy, or even the same color as mine. Other pictures on this thread look like mine though.

There's differences with lighting when taking pictures, differences with backgrounds...etc., but still that picture looks almost amber/orange with a touch of clarity...almost West Coast IPA in appearance.

In my comparison pictures, you'd be hard pressed (in my opinion) to tell the difference between the Trillium draft and the Born Yesterday.

It's not advertise as "hazy" , it's unfiltered.

Yeah while lighting can make a big difference mine looks like yours and nothing like beermeplz's.

I'd love them to do a big Dipa off of this one. When most talk about NE IPAs I think they're thinking stalwarts like Heady or Trillium which makes terrific beers, but they're 8% beers. This beer is a simple unfiltered IPA, the hop bill looks about right, but the key is it's as fresh as you can get it from Ca to my refrigerator which was 4 days. Great job Lagunitas.

    Uhh..they do. It's called Waldo's Special Ale.

Actually, it's probably much bigger than what most would consider a DIPA!

Never had it most Lagunitas stuff here is 2-3 months old for the most part. What I'd like them to do is a Dipa that hits my house in 4 days, just like this beer did. A fresh hop Dipa would be great, but it's the freshness that makes this work, this beer two months out will just be stale. Most Ca IPAs/ Dipas don't fare so well here, they're so rarely fresh enough to buy I stopped looking.

Absolutely love the hop profile of this one. Wouldn't choose any different hops for this blend. IT's great! going back for my 2nd sixer of it today.

Absolutely love this beer. the fresh hop punch is excellent and the blend of hope they chose is great! Wouldn't change a thing. Going back for my second sixer today. So easy to drink and enjoy! For those complaining about the price.... this is still cheaper than most popular sixers of IPAs out there- I just saw Alesmith IPA at the store for about $3 more.. and the cost/expense of making this beer cannot be cheap. Lagunitas stuff is always a great price point.

Same here, my bottles have been every bit as opaque as a Trillium or Tree House...if that's what does it for you.

Had this on tap last night and it was delicious. So fresh, so green/dank/piney/citrusy, a pleasure to drink.

If that's what I'm looking for, it does it for me. If that's what my "Pilsner" tastes and looks like, I'd be pissed.

Even if certain IPAs looked like that, I'd be pissed. For example, if I buy Celebration this year and it looks like this...

...I'm calling up Sierra Nevada to see what the heck happened.

I should have worded that better! That throw away comment wasn't directed at you...it was just a generic "if that's what does it for you". Sorry if it came off as snarky, certainly not my intention.

For the record, I love the beer. Might be the best I've had this year!
