Does anyone know if Lagunitas has started bottle-dating their beer? I often pass on six packs and bombers at random stores just because I don't know how long its been on the shelf. I often go buy what the release should be now, but even then its not a guaranty.

Pretty sure they use Julian dating on all their bottles, typically on the neck in a hard to read dark ink/stamp.

Yeah, not sure I understand the post. Lagunitas has always bottle dated AFAIK. (Just with Julian)

It's Julian and dark as f*ck on the neck of the bottle. (PITA but thumbs up regardless for dating 'em by any means necessary)

Thanks for asking that question, i didn't know about the Julian dating either and always skip on Lagunitas unless I know it is fresh.

Ok....I guess I will read up on Julian dating and see if I can spot a date the next time I consider a purchase.

    See location on neck below.

    per teh intranetz:

Lagunitas: Uses a bottling date. Julian date code which is written in black on the neck of the bottle. There are 2 lines. First line has 3 digits followed by a space, then one more digit. The first three digits represent the day of the year, last digit is the last number of the year. Ex: 135 3 would be the 135th day of 2013 (May 15). Second line is batch number and military time.
