Love me Lagunitas but darn if I could find a brew date on the bottle
So I called the brewery and a nice person answered and explained how to find it
Its on the neck of the bottle printed in dark ink-you need to shine a light
through the neck of the bottle then it is easy to see :slight_frown:
On top of that they dont use the standard calender-they use the number that represents the day of the year.
Anyway my IPA was less than 2 weeks from bottling
And Im on the East Coast!-congrats on being able to hit market so fast and nice customer support

So, are you going to bring a flashlight with you next time you go beer shopping?

    Cheers!

I just had a Hop Stoopid a few days ago that turned out to be bottled on April 21st, and it was quite malt forward with muted hops, with barely any discernable hop nose. Did not really enjoy it like I have in the past. I'll definitely bring a flashlight the next time I plan on picking up a Hop Stoopid!

Victory's Enjoy By date is now etched by the base of the neck. Sometimes(usually) you have to look at multiple bottles in the six pack though, because there seems to always be a missing number on each bottle. I sure did like the label date better.

You sure you didn't leave off a leading digit? I'm guessing day 270 of 2013 is the bottling date.

Lagunitas: Uses a bottling date. Julian date code which is written in black on the neck of the bottle. There are 2 lines. First line has 3 digits followed by a space, then one more digit. The first three digits represent the day of the year, last digit is the last number of the year. Ex: 135 3 would be the 135th day of 2013 (May 15). Second line is batch number and military time.

Just bought a Maximus and the first line on the neck is 180 41. It seems to have an extra digit, or out of order digits, to what others are describing. Can anyone decode what year this beer is from. I'm from Australia and this is a grey import so wouldn't be surprised if it is old, but it just seems impossible to decode what year this beer is from???

It was bottled on the 180th day of 2014, I hope.

i really wish they would just stamp their darn bottles with a born on date. no reason to make it so complicated for the consumer.

Loved how they did "Born Yesterday" dating. They need to do that with alll of their beers. Very obvious born on date.
