There is an article about Lagunitas in our local Sonoma Country paper today. http://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/20130427/ARTICLES/130429631/1350?p=1&tc=pg
The article confirms what I always believed about Tony Magee - A countercultureist meets the brewing world. Brilliant!!!!!!!
Yeah- that brought these words to mind- "Well, perched on your back was this loud-mouthed vulture Y'all were talkin back and forth about the counter-counter culture ... You got drunk last night, You swear you saw the Devil Don't you know Firewater seeks its own level" and I'm sure Tony will be happy with whatever level he gets to, as long as it's on his own terms. I kind of really liked this part: "Magee admits he has little use for the chummy world of brewers, with its conferences, festivals and collaborative beers co-created by multiple breweries."
When Lagunitas had a tap takeover at West End Tavern in Boulder, Tony came and played guitar all night, bought everyone's first beer and gave away Lagunitas mason jar looking glasses, with the dog on it, can't beat that.
A good read thanks for posting it. Tony Magee seems an interesting guy . He makes good beer but lets hope he's not over expanding.
