I am sure I am not the only person that has partaken in this free tour but if you haven't I highly suggest it. Here's what happened as part of my experience at Lagunitas.

I went there last Monday with my nephew(tasting room was closed) for the 1:00pm tour. One of the employees takes you to an area that looks a psychedelic arcade chill lounge with about eight taps. When you arrive, you are greeted by two other employee(a dude and a chick in my case) who serve you immediately with a 5 oz pour of the IPA and begin to run down all the beers on tap providing history of the beers and flavor profiles to go along with it. On tap they had Maximus, Phase Change, Brown Shugga, Wilco Tango Foxtrot(aka. What the Fuck), Super Cluster, PILS, Little Sumpin' Sumpin' and the IPA. We were given 5 oz pours of each but were gifted with a generous pour of the Lagur from a can as well which I highly recommend. Also, the employees discovered a keg of Waldo's from 2015 (I believe the first batch) and we were offered samples from that batch. Interesting sample that reminded me of a very dank malty barleywine.

Once everyone was done with their pours, its off to the brewery tour but before we go, we are offered a full 12 oz pour of whatever we want to accompany us. After having the Lagur, I asked if I could have a can for the tour and they were quick to oblige. On the tour, one thing that stood out was when we reached the bourbon barrels and the tour guide began talking about the barrel aging program, she mentioned they barreled a batch of a Little Sumpin' Sumpin' for the fuck of it so I wonder how that will turn out.

Overall the tour was great, the people at Lagunitas are very nice and informative and I will definitely do it again one day. One last thing... on the way out, the dude that hosted the tasting gave us a free six pack of our choice to go. I naturally went with the Lagur.

I haven't done the tasting tour here (just the free walking tour), but I have done the original Petaluma tour years ago. That was very enjoyable as well. The actual tour part was pretty meh, but the first half was really cool. Pretty much a campfire style story time of their history in their original taproom (abundance of weed jokes to boot).

Also, since this seems like as good a place as any to post. Has anyone tried their new Hop Water (non-alcoholic sparkling water)? I got some over the weekend and find it very refreshing. I find the taste similar to a dry-hopped cider, just less cider-y.

Yes! I really liked it. Don't go into expecting it to be a beer though or you'll be disappointed. Think Lacroix with a hint of lime and hops.
