Interesting...I still expect it to be delicious. It did have a TON of floating particulates last year. Didn't bother me, but it did provide plenty of ammo for those that expect clarity, or at least a lack of matter in their beer. Good on them for addressing what was a perceived issue by many customers.

This beer was released last summer as a part of their OneHitter Series. So I don't understand why the Lagunitas Citrusinensis is supposedly hitting the shelves now, in the middle of winter (although I would love it if it's true). Has anyone seen it?

(I noticed the picture of the label on their website shows '2016 OneHitter series')

Yeah, it's true. It's been showing up around Eastern Iowa recently in the last week or so. I'd imagine Missouri wouldn't be too far behind....

A few folks have seen it. More details in the Beer Releases forum thread.

Nice! I'll gladly take an early seasonal any day as long as the beer is tasty. I have no issue drinking marzen on a 100 degree August afternoon, or in this case, Lagunitas Citrusinensis on a 85 degree February afternoon. Seasonal drinking is overrated. Good beer is always in season.....keep 'em coming (i'm looking at you, 2016 sierra nevada oktoberfest collab....cant wait!)

    Cheers!

We got it here in Chicago and they're bringing it to Hunahpu's Day too.

It absolutely was tongue in cheek but there was a bit of truth to it. I moved here from MA a few years ago (and need to return back East soon unfortunately) and love it here. I'll really miss the mountains.....but that's besides the point. Living back home the same principle still applied.....I love a good early winter/spring/summer beer release. I can enjoy a hefeweizen on a freezing winter afternoon as much as I can enjoy a hefeweizen on a hot afternoon.

Excited to try citrusinensis again...the sixer I got last year was not very fresh. I bet it is great on tap.

I absolutely loved this beer last year. I can't wait to get more of it!

I'm with you on not blindly following seasonal imbibing patterns. A nice big, roasty stout by a campfire in the summer can be a beautiful thing.

Apparently raynmoon already beat you to the punch on this subject, OP. This thread is probably gonna get locked down.

It still tastes good, but I am not convinced that it tastes the same. It is still great, but it didn't hit the same notes that it did before, YMMV.

These are my thoughts as well. What exactly is it that people have against floaties and haze other than their outdated and parochial notions that beers are supposed to look a certain way? And why did Lagunitas feel compelled to bow down to such an opinion, however vocally uttered? It was my impression that they had no trouble whatsoever moving this beer last year; was any change to it really necessary?

    Because Heineken? Such a bummer.

I doubt it was Heineken. I'm guessing the pressure came, if it was truly external, from a vocal, but vociferous, minority.

Maybe they were responding to an individual fan named "June."

    IT'S AVAILABLE NOW, JUNE

Also, I'm as big of a Lagunitas fanboy as there is, but this one did nothing for me last year. Sure, I will pick up a sixer this year, but I'm not expecting much.
