Really liked lasts years. I inhaled a sixer. This year, I ended up drain pouring a bottle. Tasted like flat citrus water. Glad I only bought a single.

Though I've had last year. Couldn't help but purchase again. Just stocked the shelves. Therefore, to my fridge it goes.

If they set that bar for themselves, why did they release the batch last year then? It's not like they didn't know it had floaties before it was packaged. Plenty of other breweries will completely pull a release if it doesn't live up to their quality standards.

I tend to agree with what others have said. A vocal group complained enough and got their way.

If the filtering yields more sales, then so be it, it will continue to be filtered. But if it doesn't sell as well, you may see the filtering end.

Also agree this year's tastes a tad bit more syrupy that last's. Still enjoy it, but definitely a different batch.

    'Twas not, IMHO

I think that the body (including floaties) and mouthfeel were the link that made last year's version so cohesive. I find that this go-round is much more similar to GF Sculpin (different fruit obviously) than last year's. I like this version, and GF Sculpin for that matter, just not as much as the 2015. C'est la vie...

Couldn't finish a bottle. Awful. A really "off" note.

    Loved it last year.

I have enjoyed every Lagunitas beer I've tried. Can't wait to find this one.

This absolutely doesn't taste like it did last year. It is -- however -- still a damn fine brew.

I totally disagree with your assertion that filtering is "absolutely necessary".

It flew off the shelves last year, and was delicious. It isn't quite as tasty this year, and seems to be sitting on the shelves a bit. Whether that's because it's not "new", is filtered, or just is produced in higher quantities, I don't know.

And turbid/cloudy IPA's are gaining popularity at a huge rate. Look at the East Coast!

Found some in CO- Pumped!!! I've never been a big fan of pulp in my OJ so I'm down with the filtering!

Smelled delicious. But way too fruity and sticky for me to drink. I chose not to finish my taster.

Where did you have it in Texas? It wasn't showing in stock here in Austin on Monday.

had it on tap a few weeks ago and it was nothing like last year. and on top of that, it was flat out bad.

hopefully that bar's keg lines were just rancid...will give it another try.

hope they don't mess with born yesterday

Sorry, not in Austin. I had it at Taps and Caps (Dallas suburb of Lewisville). And I think I saw it at Total in Plano on Wednesday.

This beer was one of my favorites of 2015. I bought 2+ cases of it and loved every one of them. I had read this thread and despite my trepidation I picked up a 6 pack of it this week. I popped one open about 30 minutes ago and now I know what everyone was complaining about. This beer has a very off-putting taste to it. I could barely finish it.

I don't know what happened to this beer but it's not good. Tony, I love your beers but this one really got messed up. Please give us back the CitruSinensis from 2015!!!!

Mine was kind of tart and sweet. Not very hoppy and the citrus didn't enhance the hops. Is that pretty much what everyone is complaining about?

wasn't a big enough fan of it last year to buy a six pack this year, but I'd get it on draft if I came across it. Bummer it's apparently not the same though
