Tried this for the first time this weekend - the aroma was amazing, really fantastic stuff full of big, juicy hops. The flavor was also great, and just as expected - sort of a "light" IPA, that tasted like the smell but just not as strong (hate to call it "watered" down, but that might be fair). Call me crazy, but it reminded me alot of Heady Topper - Heady Topper Light, anyone?

So what's up with the price of this stuff? A little over $13/6-pack for what pretty much amounts to a light beer? I'm not expecting to get it for the same price as Coors Light, but this seems a bit high. Maybe final ABV doesn't reflect input cost as much as I suspect. I would LOVE to make this my standard go-to beer and keep a a steady supply available, but not at that price.

That's a fairly high price to pay for Lagunitas. Here in Chicago they're usually $10-11 for a six-pack.

Also, I would take Founder's All Day IPA over the Day Time IPA any day. It's got so much more flavor while I thought the Day Time only had a good aroma but weak flavor.

I've seen this around at my bottle shop, and have been hesitant to try it. I had Founders All Day IPA and wasn't crazy about it... light IPAs just aren't my thing. Back on topic.

It doesn't surprise me. Maybe the ABV is a bit lower, but it's still Lagunitas. $13 for a 6-pack seems a little high. I feel like it'd be a dollar or two cheaper here, though I haven't looked at Daytime explicitly. I do know Little Sumpin' Sumpin' is $12. Maybe $11 or $11.50.

What's the hop profile of All Day? I've had other Founder's IPAs and didn't love them - more on the earthy side from what I remember. Day Time was bursting with citrus (tart clementine, citrus peel, grapfruit, tropical fruits) which is exactly how I like it. Agreed that the flavor was not exactly overpowering, though.

I would assume that Founder's is around the same price ($13), no?

I Like Sumpin Sumpin (and Wild) alot and will have a hard time Day Time in the future since they are around the same price.

Was $9.99 here in NJ at wegmans when i picked it up... like you said it's like a light IPA, i'd certainly rather drink it than BMC lite beers or whatever.. at $9.99 i might get again, if it was to become a regular Lag release. Would like to try All Day IPA but they don't ship that to NJ yet.

I'd probably just buy a regular IPA or something, would rather spend $2 more and get the higher abv and just drink less qty.. but that's just me : /

Exactly the problem. I can get Flower Power for about the same price (I think?).

Founders 6-packs generally go for 11-12 dollars, so same price range. I remember the All Day having a good amount of tropical fruit flavor with some resinous pine. Similar to the Day Time but the flavor is just more potent and enjoyable. Still light, but there's a lot more to it.

It's good, but I think Founders All Day IPA pretty easily blows it out of the water (though Lagunitas's regular IPAs are better than Founders's Centennial). To the OP, I'll agree with the others in that your store ripped you off. All of their sixers are $10 here, including Brown Shugga and the like.

Does being in NY make a difference? If memory serves, I think most Lagunitas stuff is $12 or $13.

I had it on tap, so I can't speak of sixer prices. I did enjoy it though, a drinkable flavorful low abv IPA.

Could be state taxes or extra fees on distributors or the like. Though most things in NY seem a bit more expensive. You might have to trade for it, but fresh All Day is quite good. Much more citrusy than Founders's other hoppy beers, which tend to be abit more earthy, grassy, and/or herbal

yeah FP here in NJ generally is 11.99/sixer i believe. Can get cases I think for as low as 40.99 or 41.99 If i'm recalling correct

It's $12-$13 around here too. I bought one 6er to try it because it's gotten great reviews. I thought it was very good but it's not something I'm gonna buy again when I can get Flower Power for the same price or Sea Hag for less. If they could find a way to get it the price down a few bucks I might buy it semi-regularly but it's not so good that I'm gonna pay a premium for it and while the concept of a lower ABV IPA is cool, it's also not something I feel compelled to pay a premium for.

I paid $10.49 for a six pack of Day Time on Long Island.
I want some Brown Shugga' and I'm willing to pay a bit more for that.

From what I've gathered, it's the amount of hops used in the making of these hoppy session beers that makes the price so steep. I enjoyed this beer because it was soo refreshing, a bit thin bodied but that could be the way the brewer intended it to be. I can't get Founder's or Heady without a trade, and we don't have hany hoppy session brews aside from FW Pale 31 and Drake's Alpha Session. That being said, Daytime was a pleasant sixer to have during a warm day.

    $13 a six pack? I get it for 7.99/8.99 or 1.79 a 12 oz. bottle.

That's exactly how I feel. Founders All Day IPA has an amazing aroma and bold flavors to back it up. DayTime has an amazing aroma, but the flavors seem to to be somewhat watered down although it still tastes good. But yeah, I'd take Founders All Day IPA all day!

They have that in ATL for $9.99 a sixer in multiple places. Been meaning to try it...
