Yesterday I ordered a few cases of Lil' Sumpin' Wild 6-packs, hoping maybe one or two would show up. Today I get to work and find a brand new Lagunitas Seasonal instead - Daytime! It's listed as the August seasonal on Lagunitas' website, with a picture of the label and a short description:

    http://www.lagunitas.com/pdfs/Lagunitas_DayTime.jpg

Note that the picture states 4.9% abv, but the bottle I'm looking at says 4.65% instead. Has anyone seen or tried this beer yet?

Really excited that they decided to go with 6 packs on this one!
The original label approval was for 22's and i was dissapoint.

I've been looking forward to trying this. Seems to be that here in Minnesota we get seasonals 3 or so weeks after the intended release. Hope this pans out to be a great beer.

Big Lagunitas/all things IPA fan here in SF CA. Picked up a sixer of Daytime this afternoon, three in and I'm pleased in the sense that this is a quenching pale with the trademark Lagunitas aggressive hop. What it lacks in complexity it balances in drink ability with color and texture like a European Pils. Maybe I'm just in my mid thirties but its nice to occasionaly drink a beer that hits the notes you crave at a comparatively modest 4.65%. I'll go out on a limb here and say Lagu made an innovative move with this one that will likely be copied. It would be awesome if they put this one in to full rotation, great session beer and a bar time go to.

Bad news: $9.99 for 6 w/LESS bang for your buck.
Good news: That delicious West Coast flavor without turning you into an ass hat.

    I
think part of the reason for the price point is that it's a seasonal, and as such has the same upc as things like imperial red.

on sale for 7.99 at the pdx freddies. not on my radar, but grabbed it without hesitation when I read the label. low gravity IPA - yes, please. and, if I read this julian date correctly, it was bottled 11 days ago. fantastic hop aroma and flavor (grapefruit/pine). light bodied and dry, but that's what I was expecting. enjoyed over lunch, as the name suggests.

Can anyone explain the discrepancies between the ABV/IBU listed on the Lagunitas website/six-pack holders and that printed on the bottle labels? I can think of four or five of their beers that list one thing on the bottle and something (slightly) different elsewhere.

All day IPA @ 4.6% ABV? So it's a pale ale?

Only if you think the only thing separating a pale ale and an IPA is ABV.

Of course, IBUs are also adjusted accordingly to balance the beer. Is there another way of discerning between the two styles?

Fun fact: Lagunitas IPA has the same ABV as the New Dogtown pale ale, but fewer IBUS. Daytime has a lower ABV than either, but the same IBUs as New Dogtown.

I saw this last weekend at Total Wine in Fairfax VA for $13.99 or $14.99 a sixer. I honestly can't remember which it was, because I stopped caring when I saw the price.

That's all that's separating them. So... yes.
