Very tasty beer. First impression was very creamy and fruity. No bite and not too dank.
The hops were more of an enhancement than the focus like some if their other beers.

Possibly similar to Sweetwater's Hash Brown?

Is it going to be priced like the other one hitter beer CitruSinensis? I mean I am a fan of there beers but when I seen the 20 dollar price tag for a six pack I was shocked. Ended up picking up an overpriced single for 4 dollars and it was good but not better than the 2.00-2.50 priced offerings they carry regularly

Fantastic beer, way more hoppy than I thought it'd be. Love me some Lagunitas!

$20? Ouch. I'd be pissed at that store or distributor depending on who is doing the dicking over

agreed - you're getting screwed. i enjoy this beer a lot but it shouldn't cost that much. i'm pretty sure i paid $10-11 for a 6er.

Yep I believe the distributor since I found it overpriced as a single in the one location and the six pack at 20 at the other. Its a shame because I was going to actually spring for the whole sixer but readily put it down at that price.

A positive of Pennsylvania: we have a great selection of breweries to select beer from.

The negative: the distributors/retailers have the ‘leverage’ to price higher than much of the rest of the US.

Earlier today @PSU_Mike posted concerning Alpine bottled beer:

    “That means $13-15 in PA.

    Pass.”

Yup, pricing of beer in Pennsylvania is definitely a non-positive (except for the beer industry folks).

    Cheers!

PA prices are out of line with the rest of the country. I see people talking about SNPA for $7.99 a 6er and I just laugh and shake my head. It's $10.99 here.

I'm interested and will likely buy some.

Doppelsticke is interesting because apparently they don't normally sell it in Germany. You can head to the back of the brewery and get it by special request, but they don't distro it or sell it normally. It was created for the US market.

Ironically, their flagship alt is an unusual sight here, but doppelsticke is pretty common.

Considering freshness matters and the normal one is only like 4.5%ABV, it actually makes a lot of sense, though.

I like everything I've had from Uerige except their wheat. With all of the talk about American weizens being "fake" because of their lack of Bavarian esters - Uerige's tastes just like one.

Just a few days ago I had a thread discussion with BA upsbeernut concerning the price of a 4-pack of Victory DirtWolf where he was ‘complaining’ about a price of $8.99 in Georgia:

    upsbeernut said:

although i saw it for 8.99 the other day wont buy it for that price.

4-packs of Victory Dirt Wolf is $9.49 at my local beer retailers and I live a 1/2 hour away from the brewery.[IMG]

Yup, beer prices in PA are definitely a non-positive.:slight_frown:

    Cheers!

And the PA beer prices keep going up too! I was utterly shocked when I saw SA Octoberfest selling this year for $11.99 and $12.99 a 6-pack at many places, I remember when I could find that beer for $8.99 with no problem when it first hit the shelves (and apparently that was still more expensive than other places in the U.S.). It's absurd.

Just picked up a sixer ($11.49). Good stuff. Not sure what a doppelsticke should taste like, but I like this one. Would definitely try another of this style. Lagunitas's version reminds me of their citrusinensis. A bit thicker/syrup-ier, but just as fruity. Doesn't have the floaties, though. Wished I grabbed two sixers.

9.49 is a good price in Pa. I think the Wegman's in dtown is $11.99 and the brewery is a mile away.
