So, I know this is brought up every once in a while, but Lagunitas is one of my absolute favorite breweries out there. I know there working on making their way back out here. Is there any news on this front. I've just been fiending for some fresh sumpin sumpin.. wish the sucks coulda made it our way. Had the chance to have one or two would have def picked up a couple of six packs if it had made it out here.

Yeah, IPA is on the shelves. More brews should start trickling in

had a WTF at Freshcraft last Sat, an IPA there on Tuesday.

Did not see Lagunitas on the shelf at Argonaut last time in (Wed PM I think) but maybe it's there now.

They are starting with the IPA and it could take a couple months to get everything else back is what I was told. It is shitty that we will probably miss Sucks, there is no Brown Shugga, and they don't even list Gnarlywine on their website for this year. Hopefully we will even get the Imperial Red, and Shutdown. I am sad...

well while I would most certainly love to have the full lineup back just having the IPA around is encouragement enough for me. I think I can find a good beer or two here in Denver to hold me over while they're getting back on their feet.

    Thx for the updates guys!

I hope its better than the rest of there stuff. I know people love Lagunitas. BUt every beer i have had by them taste like a damn Onion. I cannot finish any of there stuff.

I have just seen a few threads about Imperial red being the west coast Nugget nectar, High hopes and hope they didn't use Summit hops, Nasty

Even Old Chub or the Sumpin' series?

I hate Scottish ales in general so i dont like old Chub nor do i Like Gubna because of the strong onion taste. Of the Lagunitas beers i've had that taste like straight onions to me are

    Little Sumpin Sumpin
    Dogtown pale ale
    Sucks

I haven't had the IPA in years not sure if it had onion taste or not i just thought it was a very weak IPA.

I just get a strong onion taste. My buddy loves all the above mentioned Lagunitas beers and says he can't taste onions at all, SO i guess my palate is just really keen on Summit hops

Fair enough. The first time I had Gubna I got the same flavor, onions and garlic. Then I had it on tap and it was a completely different beer. Don't know if can vs. tap has anything to do with it, but it was pretty wonderful on tap at the brewery.

just to bump this up I bought a sixer of the IPA at Argonaut wed or thurs of last week, they had no idea if they were getting anything else. Didn't see any Lagunitas on the shelf at Mayfair Saturday but plenty of other good stuff, may be my one-and-only here on out, even though I can walk to Argo and have to drive to Mayfair...So it's in town.

I get unpleasant onions in Gubna but not in the Lagunitas IPA or Sumpin Sumpin; I thought I too was strongly averse to Summits (took me 4 months once to drink a cornie of a homebrewed single hop Summit IPA I made and IMMEDIATELY picked up that flavor in Gubna) but maybe it depends on how they're used. I wouldn't have even known Lagunitas uses them in those beers but for Fitshaced's post so maybe my tolerance is higher than his.

I'm pretty sensitive to the onion and garlic in OB beers and Green Flash IIPA but never had a problem with Lagunitas. :sunglasses:

Odd. Lagunitas is so Oniony IMO:wink: I just thought that's how they are such a good bang for the buck. They use that weed called a summit hop..:grimacing: Start using some Citra hops and staying in the best bang for the buck and i will be impressed.

Agree Gubna is an Onion Patch, No Thanks!

Totally agree about the taste of gubna, but that aroma is pretty nice. I like summit in moderation. I've never had any problem wih lagunita's favor.

Odd, I was just today having lunch with a co-worker and explaining I've tried Hop Stoopid on several occasions and all I get is a massive onion flavor. The beer doesn't do anything for me at all. But he loves it. To each his own I guess. I haven't tried too many of their others as a result.

Back in October their new lauter tun was destroyed by a storm while on the ship. They weren't able to make their seasonal beers due to the incident and made Lagunitas Sucks instead. Their new tun just arrived in SF. I think once the new tun gets installed and they'll be ramping up the production pretty quickly.

Apparently, Lagunitas changed distributors out here in Colorado, which has a lot to do with why we get so little now compared to a year ago. Bummer though! I'm hoping we get some bombers this summer
