Anybody know how to discern Lagunitas keg dating? There is a a keg of IPA with the 8 top numbers on the keg label reading 0104 0428. Anybody know?

Looks to be April 14. They're Julian date codes.

Thanks, I knew they used Julian on their bottles. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't April 14th of '14....as even though it just came into the store, I think sometimes distributors dump old kegs at retailers.

No problem. And yeah, hopefully thag isn't the case. I don't know how to do the conversion myself so I just threw in those numbers in a date converter and got my answer. I highly doubt that it'd be over a year old however.

Are there any other numbers there? For bottle dating they have something like the following:

    092 5 2
    0398 1410

Where the top line is Julian day (092), Year (2015) and brewery (1 = Petaluma, 2 = Chicago). The next line is batch # (0398) and military time. Your numbers above seem to be the second line of information, batch & time. Not certain if keg and bottle dating formats are consistent however.
