Lagunitas Sucks coming to Maine this week...

And if it doesn't (coming from a resident of Chicago and frequent visitor to Portland) I'm sure we can work out some sort of Maine Beer Co.-related transaction.

 

Anyone actually seeing this on shelves? I called Carl's in Kittery and they said, "Yes, we'll have it... in a couple more weeks."

 

Plenty of it at Bier Cellar in Portland. I grabbed a case last night.

 

Getting ready to pop a firkin of this wonderful stuff tonight at The Lion's Pride for the start of our Winterfest.

 

We sold out again tonight. Didn't realize you guys were quite so thirsty. 30 cases gone in two days. We will see some more on Tuesday unless we can work some magic over the weekend.

 

Not only does lions pride have this drinking a KBS and looking at at the beer menu they have GIBCs on tap as well as many other great things wow !

Went to LP today and ordered a KBS as well as a Bourbon Black. No bourbon flavor at all in the KBS which is a beer I have had multiple times and has always had at least some bourbon flavor even in older bottles. Thought they mistakenly put a keg of Breakfast Stout on in place of KBS but then I had the Bourbon Black which also had no bourbon flavor and had the same chemical aftertaste instead. Not sure what the deal was but was not impressed.

Another party in there had ordered some of the Lagunitas Sucks from the firkin and also weren't pleased with the beer. Not surprising as the firkin was tapped on Friday so not exactly fresh for a firkin however was disappointing to hear the bartender pushing the firkin beer when it was a few days old.

Overall a very sub par experience at Lions Pride. Luckily had some bottled Lagunitas Sucks at home so was able to wash the chemical taste out of my mouth. Love Lagunitas Sucks. Like alcoholic Hawaiian Punch.

 

@ Chowdah : It is indeed the Breakfast Stout, Not the KBS. That typo is getting changed ASAP. As for the Allagash BA Black, I don't know what's up it was new keg, we clean our lines each and every tapping, and flush them well. Ask any employee past or present and they will tell you this. The firkin of Sucks was tapped Friday night, and from what I understand three days was the max. Beer mail me your full name I'll look up your CC info and I'll comp your bill. Our sincere apologies, I'm on it. I'm going to empty that SUcks right now :-) Sorry again Chow.

 

BA Allagash Bourbon Black is fine, and the Breakfast Stout tastes fine too, not sure where your "chemical" taste is coming from.Evewrything tastes quite excellent according to the panel. No chemical taste detected.

 

Industry folks now tasting....no chemical flavors. Maybe a dishwasher issue, but we can't find anything. The Sucks I'm convinced won't lst more than 24 hours now that you mention it...all those delicious cannibas flavors are gone. I'll meet you for a free taste together right now or tomorrow anytime to review and sample everything, as I hate to see comments like this. Anyone else want to beermail me and come check everything out with me? Im buying. Lets make sure the "chemical tastes" aren't anywhere to be found, just incase my palate is off. Lets drink.

 

CLively - Thanks for the note. I thought it was the Breakfast Stout and not the KBS (even texted my buddy the same thing when I was drinking it). Glad to hear my palate isn't that off! I attributed the lack of bourbon in the KBS to a potential line cleaning problem but seems that is not the case as it was just the normal Breakfast Stout. Still not psyched I paid KBS prices for Breakfast Stout and was not informed by the staff (both on the phone before I drove over and in person when I was there.) The Bourbon Black did still seem a bit off to me but that could have been a glass issue or something else. Just didn't get the normal bourbon flavors that are usually so evident in that amazing beer.

Thanks for responding so quickly to make it right. I paid in cash so no cc to remimburse but do appreciate the sentiment. I would come by for a sampler but enjoying an Abyss while watching the Pats game at home. Probably best I don't drive at this point!

 

Okay, well next tome you come in, give me a heads up so we can take care of you. if anything is ever off, just let me know, I'll take care of it ASAP, Lions Pride is supposed to be a more upscale experience, so if its not top notch, PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP. Even the dishwasher is the Ferrari of dishwahers that get out glasses mint clean ( or I sure hope!) Again, I'm treating next time.

 

Back in stock guys. Another twenty cases of lupulin fueled deliciousness.

 

Carl's has a case and half left. Not sure if they'll be getting more.

 

Wow, that went fast. When I picked mine up Friday afternoon it looked like they had at least five cases. NH is now getting some, so that helps. Cheers!
