Lagunitas Sucks In Long Beach/ LA

I though that this years batch tastes waaaaaay different than previous years? It is way maltier and does not have that "tropical" fruit hop character. I remember Lagunitas said they had to push back the release date this year to wait for a specific hop to come in, maybe that is the problem with this years batch, different hops??? I am very disappointed with this years batch...

 

Not sure if this is supposed to be sarcastic/a parody of "way different than last year" threads? If so, it's pretty good.

Weird. I had four last night as well and I thought it turned out great AND had a good tropical-ness about it. Delicious.

 

This year's batch is just as great as it was last year.. can't wait for that 32 oz. to finally come out (is that still happening?)

 

I agree, not quite as much tropical hops, but disappointed? Still an excellent beer IMO, will revisit when I see 6-packs. 32oz bottles are cool, but not ideal for middle of the week.

 

This is one of my top 3 beer, got a case yesterday! I think it is as good as last year.

 

Ok, so where is this available around Pasadena? BevMo? whole foods?

They had two cases at Bev Warehouse this morning. 9.99 per sixer. Get some!

 

Different hops. Good, but not as good as previous batches.

 

WF LB has a ton of this stuff.

In all seriousness though JayORear, having been a BA for a while now, are you not aware of the phenomenon of exponential decay of beer, in year over year releases. Its a scourge really.

 

I got a six pack from bevmo laguna niguel. And it's awful. No hops. Just a malty bullshit mess.

Pretty sure however, they have been sitting out in the sun. (The display case was NOT refrigerated.)

So do NOT buy them from this bevmo and make sure they are cold when buying. Makes a HUGE difference.

 

Any sightings in the San Fernando Valley yet? I'm not seeing anything on any of my social media feeds.

Certified Market in Monrovia, CA just got it!

 

Got mine at Vendome Toluca Lake. Not as good as last year's, unfortunately. Tastes like the hops are a bit muted. Still good for the price, but not mind-blowing.
