A guy I know walked into a store near uptown Charlotte on the day it came out--totally by chance. He bought a case and called me to ask if it was any good as he had never heard of it. Someone in the store was "talking it up."

Not sure why retailers like wouldn't put a 6/12 limit on an item like that. They knew better.

Yes I noticed that with BCBCS - $23 for 48 oz. in twelve ounce bottle fourpacks or $21 for one 22oz. bomber. Is it that much better in a bomber that it's worth paying 95 cents an ounce instead of a mere 48 cents an ounce in a fourpack?

Not quite so skewed for Sucks, 14 cents an ounce in a sixpack versus 25 cents in a 32 oz. But still a great reason not to buy a 32 oz. bottle when the same beer is available in four or sixpacks of 12 oz. bottles for a lot less an ounce and you are only laying out 25% more cash. Unless you have the money to burn and are simply too lazy to walk to the beer fridge to grab and open another 12 oz. bottle.

Once the fourpacks of BCBCS were gone, all the bombers went out the door as well. Customer relations aside, a good reason for Goose Island to consider only issuing bombers of the stuff, if people are willing to pay twice as much for the same beer...?

Is the real lesson at this point that when you are #4 on the BA top 250 you can pretty much name your price? That might help to explain why the Heady cannery had to close to retail. A limited production run of the #1 beer sold in a very limited area at a reasonable price, resulting in rising hordes buying cases, many of them purchased to trade.

The 12 ozs taste better. This beer is better as an ipa rather than a double

I feel they bumped it to 8% for the big bottles just for the novelty.I enjoyed the quart bottles fine but when I bought I recent Six pack, it really brought me back to 2011 when it first came out as 7.85%.

The change is minor.I just feel it slightly better as being a single ipa rather than bumping it up to call it a double.
