I had one in August from the 1st year it was brewed. It was still good, if not excellent.

 Sounds to me like a Lagunitas rep making sure his beer sells. For me personally? I'll pass on a 2+ month old IPA. Not sure who is to blame, but something needs to be done so that us SEPAns can get fresher west coast beers!

Just drank a 351 and a 363 bottle date. There's a huge difference. The 363 is hoppy and delicious while the 351 has lost the hop aroma and flavor, and it has a strange aftertaste that I can't quite place.

Same here but bought at Super Value in Warminster. Pretty good but still disappointed. Not sure why it took so long to get here. Wasn't the point of opening a brewery in Chicago supposed to alleviate these types of issues?

    Weird, that's only a 12 day difference.

I believe they haven't actually opened yet.

A new beer which is the anti-Enjoy By? Gives a date that it becomes "bad"?

I bought a case of Sucks today which was of the 351 batch (bottled on 12/17/13), so it is over a month old. The hop aroma is noticeable and the beer tastes good. I bought a case last year (about this same time of year) and that case was not quite as old and it tasted a bit better. I would not classify the 351 (12/17/13) batch as being 'over the hill' but it is not as vibrant as the case I purchased last year.

I took note of what @Blanco mentioned of "that's only a 12 day difference". Yep, hop forward beers like Sucks will indeed 'change' over a 12 day period. Let me be clear, I am not saying that purchasing a case of 351 (12/17/13) is not 'worth' it but if you could obtain a batch of 363 that would definitely be 'better'.

    Cheers!

I ended up getting a case of sucks and nugget nectar today. Sucks is batch 363, it's pretty good. No complaints.

Of course I would expect some difference between hoppy beer over 12 days but it sounded like the implication was one was delicious and the other was awful.

351 here, WF Plymouth Meeting and Wegman's Montgomeryville, tasty, but not quite as tasty and hoppy as I remember from last year. Last year, I got an off batch of Nugget Nectar, this year I'm a little disappointed with Sucks. FWIW, the Nugget Nectar batch I got this year was spot on, so we'll call it a draw.

Sorry to be completely new here, but when you're mentioning batch #'s such as 351, 363, etc. where is that found? Only on the case or also on a sixer / bottle neck?

Thanks jonnyb79 - that's tough to read. Mine are 327, only ones I could find... too bad. As mentioned before, still tasty, but could be quite a bit better apparently...

Date is also on one side of the case - the first three digits of the rather long number

My wife got my case today. I told her if it was old do not buy it. Well she did not check and came home with 327. It has no smell and it is pretty bad. I would have never bought it but my wife thinks i am crazy with dates on beer. Its all hers now. I wont touch another one. Waste of $40+.

    Enjoy
