Lagunitas Sucks

ha, catching those red caps sitting in the bottom of the fridge out of the corner of my eye has momentarily gotten my hopes up at time only to be dashed after further inspection/consideration.

 

Maximus is a good substitution until it comes back I think.

 

I do this with Sumpin Sumpin...it's good but it's just not Sucks. The rest of their lineup is pedestrian in comparison. I'm a huge Lagunitas fan but just a bigger Lagunitas Sucks fan...it never gets old for me.

 

I swung by there yesterday evening and bought one of the two or three remaining six-packs of Sucks. The cashier told me a very ill-informed story about how the beer got its name and proceeded to assure me that it's the same beer as Brown Shugga'. After that, and the extremely pushy sample *****s (for the third time, no I don't want to try your tequila), I don't think I'll go back to Richard's Fine Liquors anytime soon.

The Sucks on the other hand is still a pretty decent beer even though the hops are really falling off and it's a sticky sweet orange citrus bomb. This batch was bottled on February 6th, so it doesn't taste nearly as good and balanced as it is fresh but it's better than some other oldish DIPAs I've had.

 

Sucks is classified as an American Strong Ale, right?

Yeah Richard's is NOT the kind of place I'd regularly shop. My dad does for the wine selection, and I was curious to see if perhaps they happened to have any gems lying around. I was surprised they had Sucks, and they had a ton of Stone 12.12.12 Vertical

 

I somehow misplaced a sixer last year in my garage and found it 3 months later...it was still very good. Definitely jealous of your find....

 

Its an Imperial IPA.

 

Specs Downtown just got in Undercover 6 packs.

 

Did they accidentally fill a few with Sucks?
