Found a 6 of Sucks last month and (still) loved it. I was surprised. It doesn't fall of the cliff as rapidly as you'd think.

IMO sucks doesn't hold up well at all. I bought some in January, stored it at roughly 50 degrees, and by late feb, there was no grapefruit left.
I shudder to think how it would taste after several months at room temp.

For me this fell off pretty quickly. Great beer but somewhere around 2 months it fell off the cliff.

Try'em if they suck well then that sucks. But since Sucks usually doesn't suck chances are those Sucks won't suck.

Have a case of it in my fridge now. I saved it from February to enjoy on lake. Still very enjoyable and worth a purchase, but not the same beer as fresh. It's just awesome in a different way.

Disgusting. One of my favorites when fresh but gross when aged.

i am pretty sure they kept making this well passed february... i could be wrong, and if you are right about the date well that's what it is...

either that or they made WAYYYYYY WAYYYY too much this year.... because it was in ample supply around the bay area right through may...

again -- i stopped buying it in April... it did not seem to have lost much but i was starting to wonder if it was an old batch....

OF COURSE, the breweries don't really want to date the bottles in a CLEAR way -- too many people would be turning up their nose at good beer... and it would all go to waste and take a toll on the bottom line.

often, i find it impossible to find the date on the bottle when i pull it out of the cold case at the store... on the bottom of the bottle? on the shoulder upside down? standing there like a moron in the aisle turning the bottle this way and that -- holding it up to the light, craning neck, take a knee -- look at in different light...

there is SOOO SOOO much talk about freshness -- i am surprised a mega brewery like LAGUNITAS dates at all...

Nah, it's best fresh, the hop profile fades a bit, and the malt blows it away. If your a fan of malt you might like it, but it's night and day between fresh Sucks and stuff that's a few months old, let alone almost 6..

i got some that was bottled 061, the malt was much more forward and the mango/apricot flavor that i got when it was fresh was mostly gone.

The hops may have lost a little zing, but its got a good enough malt base that it should still be super tasty.

I decided against buying the sucks. They were selling it for $13, which is too high in my opinion. I bought two case of sucks back in January and they were around $42 a case.

I asked some of the guys about the beer and they knew nothing about it.

It seems like a thread like this has popped up every week or so for the last couple months so I'll say what I've said multiple times already; in the last two months I've gone through at least a case of sucks all with an 065 Julian date, and while it's not as good now as it was fresher it's still pretty damn good. I actually still have one bottle left if I'm not mistaken, which I'll be drinking tonight while the hawks bring home the cup!

This is still all over this place in NYC.
MY last 6er was about 6 weeks ago, I tasted the drop-off so i'll be waiting till the next batch to pick it up again.

I wonder how many old bottles of Sucks will be out there when they start selling them in 32 ounce bottles?

    Cheers!
