That would probably be the best "Black and Tan" ever.

Sipping this now. Let it warm to room temp, it becomes ambrosia. :grinning:

This hit NM a day or two ago, julian dated 85. Getting it from CA/IL to my state in less than a week is impressive. Other brewing companies can learn a thing or two.

Very aromatic and dangerous brew. As great as last years.

X2. I thought it was more like an American barleywine. I wasn't a fan whatsoever and regretted buying a sixer instead of just one.

I fond this to be almost like a cross between Maximus and Hop Stoopid, and I prefer those two. It was a bit sweet for me.

Picked up a sixer today in Chicagoland. $12 for an 11.5% DIPA is a downright bargain these days. Probably will not appeal to the 'hazy, juice bomb' crowd but it is tasting great & dangerously drinkable.

I'm in southeast PA and Wegmans in King of Prussia has 8-10 cases on the floor by the registers. $12.99/6 pack.

I would not buy the "scotch ale"
    they ruined it with hops.

I couldn't agree more. It's like drinking 'Undercover' or 'Brown Shugga'

You nailed it, pretty much exactly what I was thinking. Wish it was a tad less sweet as well. Total Wine near me had the 6pk. for $10.99, hard to beat that price/value.

That's the best price I've heard thus far. Total Wine just emailed out $1 off beer coupons today. Too bad my store sold out of Waldo's in 3 hours the day it was released. Does this mean some people are going to be getting Waldo's for $9.99 a six pack!? Crazy!

Wow, the Waldo's at your TW sold out in 3 hours?!?!?!? I live in between the two TW in my area, and I checked both stores, and they are still well in stock of Waldo's. Now, if only I can find a way to ship you a case...

Ha! Yeah well some markets vary for sure. I was surprised as well by how quickly it sold out. I was able to find some though, so life is good! But yeah, the TW and BevMo (literally a 2-3 minute drive apart) sold out of 5 cases each the same day they put it on the floor! Crazy.

I bought a sixer last night, but it was warm. Should be nice and cold for tonight!

While it did have more hops than the prototypes in the style, I felt like it was a lack of malt depth that really left me disappointed.

While I love what Lagunitas can do with hops (and prices....and distribution...) I find they don't have quite the same magic with malts. I love Brown Shugga's flavors, but it isn't that complex. Gnarleywine and Imperial Stout are good, but not great. High-Westified was great, but I find coffee and BBA stouts aren't known for their malt complexity anyway.
