Lagunitas Waldos' Special Ale

I picked up two six packs a couple hours ago at $11.99 per. Loved last year's Waldos' and can't wait to try the 2017 version.

 

Got my six pack today. That's all I need to destroy my palette.

 

Just drank one I got in a trade. Excellent beer.

 

@drh88, not to be rude, but why tell us that you have it but not wait til you've tried it before posting. We don't know you or care what you have, we just wanna know how you liked it.

 

Maybe to let folks know he was able to get some. Nothing wrong w that.

 

People love the sh#t out of this beer and everyone has their own tastes, but for me drinkable is the last thing I'd call this beer. Took me a while to drink the one I got.
Guess I'm more in the juice bomb crowd since I definitely preferred the Born Again Yesterday.

 

Different beers for a different mindset. Both excellent in their own way.

 

Question for everyone that has tried this year's and last year's. I've found this year's to be a bit sweeter and a bit boozier than last year's, but does anyone else feel that way?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking it and still enjoy it (Lagunitas always brings the price and quality!!), but it just doesn't taste quite as good as last year IMO. Cheers guys!

Looks it jumped from 10.2% to 11.9% from last year to this year.

 

2014 was 9.2, 2015 was 11.1, 2016 was 11.5 and 2017 was 11.9.

 

Hmm, I was going off labels on the internet (since I didn't have it recorded) and it looks like those labels were updated before they were used. Guess a noticeable increase in ABV isn't at play here.

 

I picked up a 6 pack for 9.99 the other day, I might need to pick up a second 6er. Great stuff, this is good stuff.

How could it be any boozier? I think this is a pretty awful beer. I'd rather just drink a few cans of cheap malt liquor to get a buzz. Both taste bad and do the same job.

Regardless of what you think most people know that the beer is in fact very good. It has an overall rating of world-class here on BA and out of 15,000 ratings is a 4.2 out of 5 on untappd.

 

rogelio always tries to troll! Of course its a well done beer. He knows that, probably could only afford the malt liquor and is trying to play it off.

 

I was fortunate enough to snag two 6 packs of this years version. I absolutely love this beer. For the price point to quality ratio, there may not be a better beer. I don't know how Lagunitas does it.. But I'm sure glad they do..

Perhaps not boozier, but it is definitely a little sweeter than I remember from last year. Still delicious.
